1. A day to express gratitude to our grandmothers, mothers, and wives
Vietnamese people have long been famous for their beautiful traditions, especially the tradition of 'remembering the source when drinking water' and 'remembering the planter when eating fruit.' International Women's Day is one of the days for each of us to express gratitude to our grandmothers, mothers, etc., in the family. They are the ones who silently sacrifice in life so that we can have a warm and happy life.
International Women's Day in our country is commemorated with great solemnity: filled with flowers and beautiful wishes for the other half of the world. Perhaps without saying much, we can all see the significant role of women in today's era. They bear the responsibility of childbirth, participate in raising and educating children, are the main homemakers in the family, work to earn a living, and contribute to the development of society...
365 days a year, this is the day that society cares about the most, expressing the deepest gratitude to women. A day to compensate for the hardships, the early and busy days of grandmothers, mothers, and sisters. And for us, let's express our gratitude to the respected women in our lives, let them become the fair sex rather than the weak sex.

2. A day for gender equality and progress of women worldwide
When we mention March 8th, we recall a long history of struggle by various women's groups worldwide. To have days filled with flowers as it is today, much blood and tears had to be shed. Rewind to the late 19th century, when capitalism in the United States was booming, workers were brutally exploited, especially women and children.
Facing such injustice, a group of American workers rose to demand equality, and this movement quickly gained significant influence, spreading to many countries worldwide. By 1910, the International Women's Conference held in Denmark decided to designate March 8th as 'International Women's Day' with slogans expressing the rights of freedom and equality, such as the 8-hour workday, equal work, and protection for mothers and children.
Officially in 1975, the United Nations established March 8th as International Women's Day, a day to demonstrate equality and progress, peace worldwide. All women around the globe have the opportunity to utilize their resources and fully express their lives and talents; no one has the right to hinder that. This is the core value of International Women's Day.

3. Day for Integration and Development
In sync with the emerging spirit of building socialism, completing the industrialization and modernization revolution of the country, we rejoice in the numerous achievements we have attained. However, there are still many challenges ahead awaiting the collective spirit of our nation. Hence, every day, every hour is the time for us to exert even more effort to elevate our nation shoulder to shoulder with major powers. And what could be more wonderful than fulfilling this noble and sacred mission on days like these, right?
In the cause of building and developing the nation, women also contribute a significant part of their efforts by participating in the economic and business sectors. The images of women are widely seen on social networks, playing different roles and positions in the fields of social life, economy, and politics. They not only contribute to bringing the country into integration and development with the world but also actively affirm the high values of women.

4. A day to commemorate a glorious period in the nation's history
Perhaps many find this peculiar. However, this is indeed the occasion for every Vietnamese, carrying the bloodline of Lac Hong, to commemorate the day of the Hai Ba Trung uprising - the first two female heroes who expelled foreign invaders, preserving the integrity of the national border. International Women's Day is a moment for the younger generation to remember the contributions in safeguarding the nation's territory by these departed female heroes.
Perhaps no one can forget the sacred oath to the country, the echo of revenge resounding in those years of the 40s. The uprising stirred a powerful patriotism, receiving the support of the entire people and army. United and under skillful leadership, our people quickly broke the chains of slavery, shattered the shackles of feudalism, to build a free nation, a government of the South.
This patriotism is like a wave, eternalized and engraved in the merits of national female heroes such as General Le Chan, Hai Ba Trung, General Bui Thi Xuan, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Sister Vo Thi Sau,... They are all famous female heroes closely associated with the glorious history of our Vietnamese nation. International Women's Day, along with some other holidays, is the time to remember the immense contributions of women in the cause of defending the country.

5. A day to honor women
Women in East Asia in general, and Vietnamese women in particular, embody traits of compassion, resilience, and wholehearted sacrifice for their families. Women carry noble qualities and willingly sacrifice for their families. At every moment, especially during the resistance wars to protect the country, women are ready to contribute their efforts. The contributions of women play an indispensable and crucial role in life.
During wartime, they are the bravest and most resilient. Ready to become a solid rear support to reassure the front lines, they strive to build and develop the nation, standing up to defend the nation's independence, even fighting when the enemy comes knocking on their doors. In those painful war years, many heroic Vietnamese mothers sacrificed their entire lives, dedicating their happiness and strength to regain freedom and independence for the nation. The eight golden words bestowed by Uncle Ho still shine the brightest: heroism, indomitable spirit, magnanimity, and reliability.
Today, as peace is restored, and the country is transforming to stand alongside global powers, these women silently and modestly contribute their efforts to that cause every day, every hour. Not only skilled in national tasks, they also manage household chores, creating the most peaceful haven for each of us. Therefore, they deserve the utmost respect and honor.
