In 1966, to accommodate the afternoon classes of Chi Lang 2 School (now Cao Ba Quat), the authorities built 5 temporary classrooms using lightweight materials - a branch of Chi Lang 2 School. On August 18, 1972, the decision was made to separate the branch from Chi Lang 2 and it was named Dong Ba School. The school initially consisted of 5 classrooms.
