1. Purify Your Eyes with Trataka
Trataka, the ancient meditation yoga, known as yoga gazing, is practiced by focusing on a candle flame placed at arm's length. Before attempting this posture, familiarize yourself with the technique to avoid harm. Trataka is performed by placing a candle on a high stand, about an arm's length away, and concentrating on the flame emitted.
Benefits:
- Improves eyesight, promoting eye health in cases of weakened vision.
- Enhances concentration and promotes relaxation.
- Stimulates the third eye.
Technique:
- Step 1: Sit comfortably with a straight head and neck. Close your eyes and relax your entire body, especially the eye area. Feel the stability of your body for a few minutes, keeping it unchanged throughout the practice.
- Step 2: Once the body is stable, open your eyes and focus intensely on the candle flame, avoiding blinking or moving the pupils. Relax your entire body, directing consciousness to observing the candle flame.
- Step 3: After 1-2 minutes, when your eyes are tired or tears begin to flow, close your eyes and concentrate on the flame, directing your mind to the third eye (the midpoint between the two eyebrows).
- After completing the final round, gently rub your eyes 2-3 times before opening them.
