1. Hoa Binh Falls
From the Dâu Giây junction, take National Highway 20 towards Da Lat, and after about 70 km, you will reach Phu Son commune, where you'll find Hoa Binh Falls. To the left of Linh Phu Pagoda, the waterfall rises to a height of about 300 meters. During the rainy season, when the waters swell, the waterfall resembles a long white ribbon cascading down the mountainside. According to legend, this is the meeting place of a young couple who, due to tribal conflicts, were unable to marry. Heartbroken, they came here to weep, and their tears formed the waterfall. The sound of the flowing water is said to echo their sorrow, adding to the mystique of this natural wonder. From the base of the mountain, the waterfall appears both radiant and ethereal, veiled in mist year-round, blending with the deep expanse of clouds above. Occasionally, birds glide across the sky, returning to their nests.
You can explore the falls by hiking to the top from the Durian Hill route, a relatively easy path, though the allure of the panoramic view from the waterfall's peak may not captivate those seeking adventure. Alternatively, you can choose a winding, rocky trail that makes the journey more challenging, with narrow paths winding between small rocks and steep slopes. Standing at the top of the falls, you'll be treated to a breathtaking view of the picturesque landscape, where the forest and sky merge into a vast expanse of green. At the waterfall’s source, the water flows tirelessly, cascading in a white ribbon, nourishing the surrounding rice fields, with quaint farmer homes dotting the landscape. Below the falls, a wide valley opens up, where you can spot storks flying gracefully over the endless fields.

2. Tri An Falls
The name Tri An Falls is tied to several intriguing and mysterious folk tales, including stories of brave warriors who saved villagers from dangerous beasts, and a tragic love story of a young couple from different tribes who could not be together and turned into stone after jumping into the falls. According to the folklore of Dong Nai (by author Huynh Van Toi), the name 'Tri An' comes from a touching story of compassion. In the upper reaches of the Dong Nai River, a Choro tribe lived, led by Chief Dieu Loi, whose daughter, Dieu Du, was renowned for her spear-throwing skills. Downriver, the Ma people had a young man, Sora Dina, the son of their chief Sora Din, known for his archery prowess. The two fell in love, and Sora Dina moved to her village, following her tribe's customs.
Shaman Sang Mo, who had secretly loved Dieu Du but was rejected, turned his love into hatred and plotted against the young couple. He captured them and threw them into the river, where they died at the final waterfall of the Dong Nai River. However, their child was saved by Sang Mo’s sister, Sang My, who sacrificed her life for the child. In gratitude for Sang My’s selfless act, the chiefs of the Ma and Choro tribes spared Sang Mo’s life and named the waterfall Tri An, which over time became known as Tri An Falls. The majestic Tri An Falls, with its steep cliffs and thundering waters, is associated with the legend of a woman who turned to stone in grief for her husband. The serene beauty of Tri An Lake, where you can paddle a boat, fish, or enjoy the moonlight, offers a truly magical experience. Here, you can take countless photos, scream with joy, and enjoy quality time with loved ones. It's the perfect spot for a fantastic day out.
