1. Thang Thien Waterfall
Thang Thien Waterfall is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Hoa Binh, known for its untouched, tranquil beauty surrounded by lush forests. Located just about 50 km from Hanoi, Thang Thien Ecotourism Area has long been a popular weekend getaway for relaxation and adventure. Nestled in a pristine forest in Ky Son District, Hoa Binh, this ecotourism spot remains one of the few places that preserve a diverse and rich ecosystem. The climate is always fresh and cool, even when temperatures outside soar to 37-38°C. Visitors can still expect a refreshing breeze, and if you stay overnight, a light jacket and blanket might be needed to stay warm. Upon entering, you'll first encounter a resort with a swimming pool fed by natural spring water from the mountains. There's also a thrilling waterslide that attracts adrenaline seekers. As you continue, you'll pass by three waterfalls, each offering a refreshing spot for a swim. The cascading waterfalls create foam as the water flows consistently throughout the year. Surrounded by the pristine forest, the water here remains clear and cool at all times. If you plan to swim, make sure to warm up beforehand as the water is quite cold even on sunny days. The chill can cause cramps or a sudden drop in body temperature. The highest point of the ecotourism area is the Thang Thien Waterfall, where you can truly appreciate why this waterfall earned its name. The powerful cascade roars as it falls, surrounded by vast forests and misty clouds, offering an awe-inspiring sight.

2. Go Lao Waterfall - Dong Bang
For those enchanted by the picturesque beauty of Ba Khan village, another natural masterpiece in the mountainous Mai Chau district is Go Lao Waterfall, located in the Go Lao Hamlet of Phuc San Commune. Regardless of the season, the cool, refreshing waters of this waterfall twist and cascade like a white curtain amidst the lush green bamboo forests. Also known as Go Mu Waterfall, it is situated about 15 km from Mai Chau town. There are several ways to reach Go Lao Waterfall: from National Highway 6, travelers can turn right at the foot of Da Trang Hill in Phu Cuong Commune (Tan Lac), then follow the inter-district road for more than 20 km to the waterfall. Alternatively, tourists can take a boat to the Bai Sang port in Phuc San.
Go Lao Waterfall remains largely untouched by human development. The waterfall splits into three separate streams cascading down steep cliffs. At the base, rocky outcrops create unique landscapes, and the crystal-clear water reflects the sky, forming a picturesque scene. Surrounded by dense bamboo and green forests, Go Lao Waterfall appears like a delicate, flowing silk ribbon, making it a perfect spot for young adventurers who love thrills and excitement. Visitors can enjoy activities such as water sliding and swimming. Although it’s an ideal destination for adventure seekers, the number of tourists visiting Go Lao remains limited for now.

3. Thung Nai Waterfall
Thung Nai is a commune located in the vast waters of the Da River, part of Cao Phong District in Hoa Binh Province. Historically known as the land of Muong Thang, it was once a flourishing area for the Muong people. In the 1980s, when the construction of the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant began and the reservoir started to fill, Thung Nai became a giant water reservoir. The towering mountains of the past transformed into islands scattered across the water, creating a stunning landscape. Today, Thung Nai is a perfect destination for relaxing with family and friends, offering serene views and the beauty of nature.
While Thung Nai is famous for its beautiful views over the Da River, fewer people know that the Trạch Stream and the upper reaches of Thung Nai hide an untouched, pristine waterfall. From the Thung Nai boat dock, it takes about 20 minutes by motorboat to reach the Trạch Stream and its waterfall. After docking by the Da River reservoir, visitors walk about 1 km further, gradually hearing the sound of rushing water blending with the gentle flow of the stream. Though the waterfall is not tall, it is incredibly picturesque, with two streams of white water cascading down rocky cliffs to form an ideal swimming spot.

Pung Waterfall is a stunning waterfall located in the Piang Ve Commune of Mai Chau. It is a relatively new tourist spot that has begun to attract both domestic and international travelers. However, getting to Pung Waterfall is not an easy journey. The roads leading to the waterfall are rugged, and some paths can only be accessed by motorbike. The water splits into several streams that flow over moss-covered rocks, creating a stunning landscape. 6. Mu Waterfall, Hoa Binh
Mu Waterfall is often described as a paradise, a mystical, fairyland-like escape. Its majestic natural beauty, coupled with the crystal-clear, cool waters cascading over rocky ledges, has made it an increasingly popular destination for both local and international tourists. The waterfall is located in Mu Hamlet, Tu Do Commune, Lang Son District, Hoa Binh Province. While many may not be familiar with the name 'Mu Waterfall,' seeing its breathtaking images instantly captivates anyone who lays eyes on it. Often compared to a 'fairyland,' the highlight of this waterfall is its impressive drop of over 100 meters, which has, over time, created a natural swimming pool. The waterfall also has well-maintained paths leading to various tiers, allowing visitors to explore its different levels.
The torrents of white water cascade down in stunning layers, creating a picturesque scene, with the surrounding lush, tall trees enhancing the overall beauty. Despite its charm, Mu Waterfall remains somewhat off the beaten path, with limited tourist services and amenities. However, visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Bai Bui, often called the 'European-like meadow,' Bãi Nhạ, Mo Stream, and Cuc Phuong Forest, all renowned destinations in Hoa Binh. Mu Waterfall has yet to see a surge of restaurants, so visitors are advised to pack their food and enjoy a lovely picnic in the wild. Don't miss out on trying local specialties such as rice cooked in bamboo (com lam), mountain snails, mountain crabs, grilled stream fish, and wild vegetables, all of which are popular dishes in the area.
