In recent years, elephants have been severely threatened due to hunting and killing for commercial purposes. However, at this year's festival, elephant herds are ensured both in terms of quantity and quality. The elephant festival is free and promises to attract tourists, especially young travelers, with well-trained elephants from Ban Don. The elephant festival includes activities such as health ceremonies for elephants, swimming competitions, and running competitions.

2017 Tay Nguyen Gong Cultural Festival
The Tay Nguyen Gong of the Central Highlands was recognized by UNESCO as a masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity in 2015. And every Coffee Festival, the Tay Nguyen Gong Cultural Festival is always organized alongside, not only to preserve and develop this heritage but also to introduce it more widely to domestic and international tourists. With the theme 'Identity in the Globalized World,' the festival includes five detailed activities: gong performances; revival of rituals and ceremonies of ethnic minorities associated with gong performances, promising to delight tourists.

Wooden Canoe Racing at Lake Lắk
Wooden canoe racing includes competitions for 2, 4, and 6 athletes, with tourists also having the opportunity to participate. The competition will be held at Lake Lắk, about 56 km south of Buon Ma Thuot city center. It is the second largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam after Ba Be Lake. This activity is also part of the 2017 Coffee Festival.
