From what's been shown, these deities are exceptionally potent in the MCU.
Initially, the only deities appearing in the MCU were those of Asgard. Later, in Phase 4, more deities emerged. From the gods of Egypt (appearing in Moon Knight) to Celestials (appearing in Eternals).
And it seems a Greek deity will soon make an appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder. Before this character is introduced, let's review the 7 most powerful deities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
7. Classic Loki
Classic Loki is a variant of Loki from another reality. He's also the most magically potent Loki in the MCU to date. He was able to deceive Thanos perfectly, avoiding being killed by the Mad Titan. He could also create a perfect replica of Asgard using his magic.
6. Khonsu
Khonsu is the most significant Egyptian deity in Marvel comics and the MCU. Marvel largely retains the distinctive appearance and powers of this deity.
Khonsu is the one who saved Marc Spector from the clutches of death, subsequently transforming him into Moon Knight to serve his own agendas. However, due to Khonsu's ideals of vengeance and personal motives not always aligning with Marc's philosophy, the two characters often clash, even sparking heated debates.
Furthermore, Khonsu's presence will serve as a gateway for Marvel Studios to introduce Egyptian deities into the MCU.
5. Thor
Thor is often depicted as one of the mightiest of Asgardians and one of the strongest Avengers. Thor's powers include the ability to control lightning in battles, transforming lightning into a weapon as needed.
The pinnacle of his power was seen in Infinity War when he wielded Stormbreaker. However, his strength was significantly diminished in Endgame, perhaps due to Thor's prolonged period of inactivity due to depression. Of course, one cannot overlook how Thor's stout physique also impacts his combat abilities.
And soon, Thor: Love and Thunder will likely showcase the mightiest incarnation of the Thunder God that audiences have ever witnessed.
4. Ammit
In the Marvel universe, Ammit is the guardian creature for a weapon called the Sword of Bones. However, the MCU has altered this, turning Ammit into a goddess with ideologies and thoughts completely contrary to Khonsu.
Upon her revival in Moon Knight, Ammit is an incredibly formidable character. Based on the purple magic Arthur wielded through Ammit's staff, it's evident that this goddess is adept in a form of dark magic. Sadly, Ammit ultimately fell defeated after being sealed away by Arthur Harrow.
3. Odin
As the King of Asgard, Odin is a mighty warrior and leader of his people, wielding unparalleled power. His true strength lies in the Odinforce, which grants him near-infinite magical power.
His power not only allows him to take control of Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, but also strip Thor of his power and banish him to Earth.
2. Hela
Hela is the most powerful being in all of Asgard as she is the Goddess of Death, daughter of Odin, and once his executioner. She aided Odin in ruling the Nine Realms since ancient times, possessing Mjolnir, allowing her to control and destroy it with a mere hand gesture.
She can manipulate objects with her mind, craft deadly weapons from thin air, and, most terrifyingly, as the Goddess of Death, summon the dead to obey her commands.
Hela single-handedly conquered and controlled all of Asgard immediately after escaping Hel. It took the might of Surtur's hand to bring her down.
1. Arishem
Arishem stands as one of the mightiest Celestials, known as the arbiter of planetary destinies - deciding whether a planet should exist within the galaxy or not.
Arishem is believed to have forged the first sun in the MCU. With formidable power and a body size surpassing other gods, Arishem appears to be the mightiest deity in the current MCU.
