On April 22nd, BMW Asia and Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO) officially unveiled the new BMW X1 – a dynamic, youthful, and charismatic vehicle. The version introduced in Vietnam is the BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine with prices starting from VND 1,859 billion. The distinctive feature of the X1 compared to other models in its segment is the harmonious blend of BMW's characteristic sharp and inspiring driving feel with practicality and modern technology. Moreover, right from its debut, the BMW X1 has made a unique mark with its completely distinct design. The upgraded version of the BMW X1 continues to enhance the already impressive appeal of this model. The design of the new BMW X1 highlights the perfect beauty in every detail, enhancing a strong and dynamic impression of BMW's Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) lineup.
The front end stands out with a newly designed larger BMW kidney grille, and sharp LED headlights. The front bumper is more impressive with large air intakes, showcasing the sporty DNA of the SAV lineup. Additionally, appearing for the first time on the BMW X1 is the Jucaro metallic paint color. Another standout feature (literally) of the new BMW X1 is the exterior mirrors on the driver's side equipped with LED welcome lights projecting the 'X1' logo onto the ground every time the car door is opened. LED taillights are standard on the BMW X1 with a sleek L-shaped design extending around the corners. The horizontal design of the LED taillights emphasizes the width of the rear end, creating a robust stance for the BMW X1. Completing the dynamic, modern appearance for the BMW X1 are the new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with an eye-catching design.
The interior of the BMW X1 cleverly combines aesthetics and versatility, along with advanced technologies that have created a spacious, luxurious, and practical space. The connectivity and entertainment features on the BMW X1 utilize cutting-edge technologies. The heart of the new version is the TwinPower Turbo 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder engine, producing a maximum power of 140 horsepower and a maximum torque of 220 Nm. The power of the BMW X1 is transmitted through front-wheel drive. The BMW X1 is equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. This SAV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.7 seconds and has a top speed of 203 km/h. Highlighted safety features on the new BMW X1 include front and rear distance sensors, which greatly assist the driver in maneuvering in tight spaces and when parking. Additionally, the intelligent Parking Assistant system will automatically steer the steering wheel to parallel park. Furthermore, a rear-view camera is also standard-equipped.


2. BMW X6: VND 4,829 billion
The third generation of BMW X6 (G06) debuts in Vietnam with a single variant, the xDrive40i M Sport, equipped with the M Sport package including high-performance M brakes, adaptive M suspension, M body kit, and 20-inch M wheels. The car directly competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. Prominent interior features include crystal touch controls, heated/ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and 4-zone automatic air conditioning (the Mercedes-Benz GLE 43 Coupe only has 3-zone automatic air conditioning). The BMW X6 uses LED laser headlights that automatically adjust light zones to avoid dazzling oncoming vehicles, a feature not available in the GLE Coupe.
The BMW X6 is the first model on the market with the BMW Iconic Glow illuminated kidney grille. The car's interior features an ionization system and interior fragrance, features that the GLE Coupe lacks. It comes with a fully digital instrument cluster and supports Apple CarPlay, whereas the GLE Coupe only has a 4.5-inch information display and lacks Apple CarPlay support. Notable safety features include a parking assistance system with 360-degree cameras, parking assist system, tire pressure monitoring, and high-performance braking system. The BMW X6 shares its engine with the two new X5 models. It's equipped with the B58 twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0L petrol engine, producing 340 horsepower, 450 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
Other modern standard features include: 4-zone automatic air conditioning, ionization system and fragrance system offering up to 8 different scents, large panoramic Panorama sunroof, interior ambient lighting system including Welcome Light Carpet, light carpet effect activated when opening/closing the car door... Crystal gear lever, iDrive rotary controller, start button, and volume control knob adorned with transparent crystals, and Harman Kardon surround sound system with 16 speakers, 464-watt power, 9-channel amplifier. The rear seats can be folded in a 40:20:40 ratio to increase luggage space from 580L to 1,525L.


3. BMW X5: Price Range from 4,119 to 4,699 billion VND
The fourth-generation BMW X5 boasts an increased wheelbase by 42 mm (reaching 2,975 mm), overall length extended by 36 mm (reaching 4,922 mm), width widened by 66 mm (reaching 2,004 mm), and height raised by 19 mm (reaching 1,745 mm) compared to its predecessor. The most striking highlight at the front of the car is the large-sized kidney grille and the solid one-piece BMW-specific surround. The X5 xDrive40i xLine variant is equipped with adaptive LED headlights, while the X5 xDrive40i xLine Plus is upgraded to BMW Laserlight. Both lighting systems integrate the intelligent automatic on/off function for individual headlight zones thanks to the forward vehicle monitoring camera. Both variants feature distinctive exterior details including matte aluminum grille bars, front bumper protection plate, roof rails, and aluminum window surrounds, along with chrome accents highlighting the robust characteristics of the BMW X5.
All passengers aboard the 2020 BMW X5 can enjoy luxurious, refined, and spacious interiors. The center console extends to the dashboard area with aluminum Mesheffect decorative trim enhancing the modern aesthetics of the cabin. The elevated seating positions provide an airy cabin, with the cockpit centered around the driver and the controls logically arranged. The integrated 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch central touchscreen unite in both design style and graphical interface. Other operational features such as the Driving Experience Control mode selection button and the air suspension control area are placed together on the center console. Here, the driver can also use the iDrive Touch rotary controller, redesigned gear lever, and engine start/stop button – all adorned with “CraftedClarity” crystal touches on the X5 xDrive40i xLine Plus variant.
In terms of technology, the 2020 BMW X5 is equipped with Parking Assistant Plus, capable of automatically selecting and maneuvering the vehicle into perpendicular or parallel parking spaces. Another testament to BMW X5's advanced driving assistance technology is the most advanced Reversing Assistant feature in its segment. This function makes reversing out of parking spaces or tight spaces remarkably easy, surpassing competitors. Firstly, the system will automatically record steering inputs in the last 50 meters the vehicle moves forward. Then, the system will autonomously steer the vehicle back in reverse along the same path it entered. The 2020 BMW X5 is now available at all BMW dealers nationwide.


4. BMW 730Li M Sport - 4,369 billion VND
The upgraded facelift (LCI) 2020 BMW 7-Series has recently been introduced in Vietnam with 3 variants. Among them, the standard version is the 730Li M Sport, making its debut. This version is positioned to compete both in terms of equipment and price with the standard version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the S 450 L. The first impression upon entering the cabin of the 2020 BMW 730Li M Sport is the extremely spacious interior provided by the longest wheelbase in its segment at 3,210 mm. The driver's area is where most of the car's technology is concentrated, so German engineers have arranged numerous high-end features for a tech-savvy look. For instance, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional in the driver's area consists of 2 touchscreens. You can adjust the volume, play music through hand gestures, and give commands via voice control. The dashboard is designed in a minimalist style with 3 layers: leather on the top layer, premium Zebrano wood trim running through the driver's area, and a lower layer integrating a storage compartment. Chrome accents cover various positions around the car such as the control panel, iDrive rotary controller, and door handles. The roof lining of the car is both high and luxurious in BMW Individual style with beautiful Anthracite black color. In addition to the power-adjustable feature, the front seats are also equipped with heating and massage functions.
For luxury sedans like BMW, cooling capabilities have never been a source of complaint for users. 5. BMW 3-Series: Price Range from 1,899 to 2,499 billion VND
The exterior design of the BMW 3-Series is completely revamped, featuring a blend of sharp lines and smooth surfaces, creating an impression of a sporty and modern sedan. The distinctive BMW kidney grille now has larger vertical slats and a contiguous surround, seamlessly integrating with the front headlights. The elongated hood, extended wheelbase, widened track width, and gracefully contoured roofline add to its sophistication. 6. BMW 740Li – Pure Excellence - 6,289 billion VND
Compared to the 740Li LCi variant introduced late last year, the new 740 Li - Pure Excellence variant is equipped with an exclusive exterior package featuring chrome accents around the vehicle, 20-inch multi-spoke chrome wheels (style 646) wrapped in run-flat tires, acoustic glass, specially reflective infrared, and Welcome light carpet. The 740Li's Laserlight headlight system is designed to be slim, using intelligent LED technology with automatic on/off and cornering adjustment. The front of the car is raised by more than 50 mm, along with the larger kidney grille, emphasizing the commanding presence and dignified demeanor of a flagship model.
The interior of the car is elevated to a new level with the Pure Excellence interior package, featuring gloss black Fineline wood trim, Nappa Exclusive leather seats with diamond stitching and contrasting color seams, and Anthracite Alcantara headliner. Both front and rear seats feature multi-directional power adjustment with memory function, standard on luxury models. Additionally, the car is equipped with a Panorama Sky Lounge panoramic sunroof with 15,000 LED lights creating a special lighting effect. 7. BMW 730Li Pure Excellence - 4,999 billion VND
The overall dimensions of the BMW 730Li LCI Pure Excellence indicate that it is a luxurious sedan, and the body proportions are further accentuated by large metal surfaces, meticulously crafted around a carbon core (CFRP). The carbon fiber frame also reduces the overall weight of the car by up to 130kg. The central control panel of this sedan is designed following BMW's lookbook.
