Second: Hanoi – Vinh Phuc – Viet Tri – Phu Tho - Tuyen Quang. This route has many buses, so it is quite crowded and about 30km longer than the first route, but its safety level is relatively high.

3. Means of Transportation
When coming to Ha Giang, you can choose between two types of transportation: motorbike and car. However, Ha Giang is a mountainous area with rocky plateaus, so the roads are often difficult and hazardous, especially the winding mountain passes. One of the most challenging mountain passes here is Ma Pi Leng Pass, passing through Meo Vac, Ha Giang. You should carefully consider before choosing your mode of transportation to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.
If you lack experience in backpacking or feel unsure about finding your way, it's better to take a coach. From Hanoi, you can take a coach to Ha Giang at My Dinh bus station. Upon arrival, you can hire a motorcycle taxi or rent a self-driving motorbike for about 200,000 VND/bike/day to explore the tourist attractions in Ha Giang.
But if you're a true backpacker, mountainous roads are not obstacles for you, and riding a motorbike by yourself will be quite an exciting journey. Along the way, you can admire the majestic scenery on both sides of the road and experience the daily life of the locals here, saving some expenses while having unforgettable experiences.
However, remember to prepare sufficient protective gear and bring all necessary vehicle documents along with a map. To enhance your travel experience, Mytour recommends joining professional backpacking groups for more experience and safety. Every week, there are backpacking groups organizing trips from Hanoi to Ha Giang, so you can freely choose the timing for your trip.
