These on-screen pairs are simply incompatible.
While Hollywood has created many romantic couples adored by audiences worldwide, some couples, upon closer inspection, seem illogical and lack the strong connection portrayed. Some couples are even willing to sacrifice for each other, despite being young with their entire lives ahead. Screen Rant has compiled a list of such unlikely couples, surprising many fans of classic characters.
Rose & Jack - Titanic
Considered the eternal love story of Hollywood, Titanic may not be as romantically plausible to the majority of viewers. Upon scrutiny, the three-day love affair between Jack and Rose in the film seems implausible. Jack helps Rose escape the constraints of marriage and life, but it's hard to believe that Rose truly fell in love with him solely due to his free-spirited nature. Jack himself admits to being a 'bad boy,' so the reason he sacrifices his life for Rose's survival at sea remains a perplexing mystery.

Katniss & Peeta - The Hunger Games Series
Katniss and Peeta make the list because their bond in adversity is more about empathy than simple romance. In the deadly arena, both endure harrowing trials, creating a camaraderie. However, the two lack much 'romantic chemistry,' especially considering their initial reluctance to partake in the deadly games. The relationship between Katniss and Peeta continues to perplex and disappoint audiences in the film series.

Kat & Patrick - 10 Things I Hate About You
Screen Rant asserts that drawing inspiration from Shakespeare's tale explains why Kat and Patrick are mismatched, as romantic sensibility in Shakespearean plays is never straightforward. Initially, Kat pays no attention to Patrick, and Patrick pursues her solely for payment. Besides their rebellious nature, the two lack any real connection to fall in love, especially when Kat discovers the true reason behind Patrick's pursuit but eventually overlooks it at the end.

Edward & Bella - Twilight
Edward and Bella remain enigmatic to audiences, even though Twilight was once a widely watched romantic film series. Bella sacrifices a potentially peaceful, happy, and human life for a complex, tumultuous relationship with a non-human protagonist, initially drawn only to her 'blood scent.' Bella's decision to forsake her human life to become a vampire alongside Edward is strangely illogical.

Baby & Johnny - Dirty Dancing
One of Hollywood's top on-screen couples surprises audiences as they don't quite match up romantically or logically. Johnny remains crude and ruthless towards Baby, especially because she initially struggles with dancing. This significant sign should make a smart girl like Baby steer clear of Johnny, but instead, she's willing to defy her parents and sneak out to spend time with him. Remarkably, they had only met for a few days at that point...

Danny & Sandy - Grease
As one of the most iconic musical couples on the world's cinematic stage, Danny and Sandy from Grease don't have a convincing reason to be together. Yes, they have a fantastic summer, but when it comes to school, it's clear the two belong to different worlds. Sandy could have overlooked this relationship when Danny pretended not to know her, but later, Sandy, in a bold move, tries to become the type of person Danny prefers. Sandy always seems more suited and has every reason to be with Tom rather than the film's main character, Danny.

Harry & Ginny - Harry Potter Film Series
Excluding the source material, Harry and Ginny's relationship in Harry Potter disappoints audiences. From childhood to adulthood, the two characters hardly have any significant connection, with less than 11 minutes of screen time together throughout the eight-part film series. In the end, they come together and start their own family, but this detail fails to convince viewers. Even Harry Potter has more 'romantic chemistry' with his friend Hermione or even Luna than with Ginny.
