Trà Khúc River is the largest river in Quảng Ngãi province, Vietnam. It originates from Đắc Tơ Rôn Mountain, which rises 2,350 meters above sea level, formed by the convergence of four major rivers: Rhe, Xà Lò, Rinh, and Tang. This confluence is known as the Ly Lang intersection. From there, the river flows eastward through the districts of Sơn Hà, Sơn Tịnh, Tư Nghĩa, and Quảng Ngãi city before emptying into the Đại Cổ Lũy (Chiêm lũy lịch môn) estuary. The total length of the river is 150 kilometers. As dawn breaks, the serene beauty of the area captivates visitors. 7. Sơn Mỹ Memorial Site
The Sơn Mỹ Memorial Site, covering 2.4 hectares, is located in Khê Thuận village (Tư Cung hamlet, Tịnh Khê commune), near Provincial Road 24B, which leads from Quảng Ngãi town to Sơn Mỹ - Mỹ Khê - Sa Kỳ. It is about 400 meters away from the historical landmarks, such as Ông Nhiều’s field, the watchtower, and the village road. This site is distinct from nearby residential areas and features preserved and restored original monuments, as well as more recent structures, including an exhibition hall, guest reception area, and statues. In addition to its historical value, Sơn Mỹ stands as a grim reminder of the atrocities committed by the American forces during the Vietnam War. It serves as a memorial to the 504 innocent civilians who lost their lives here, and is also recognized for its tourism value.
With a steady influx of visitors, Sơn Mỹ has become a significant place to reflect on the brutalities of war. Today, visitors to Sơn Mỹ can stop in front of the monument to pay their respects and reflect on the tragic events. Inside the Memorial House, various artifacts are displayed, including a bullet-riddled old tray, the clothes and shoes of a young child killed in the massacre, broken bowls and pans, and the Buddhist monk Thích Tâm Trí’s prayer bell, which was recovered.


8. Quảng Ngãi White Waterfall
