1. Thanh Thuy Hot Springs
Thanh Thuy Hot Springs is located in La Phu Commune, Thanh Thuy District, Phu Tho Province, about 80km from Viet Tri. This geothermal water source is drilled from depths between 35 and 100 meters, with temperatures ranging from 40°C to 57°C. The water is heated through geothermal activity, starting as rainwater that seeps through cracks in the earth’s surface. As it descends, it absorbs natural heat and minerals from the rocks and minerals underground, becoming enriched with various elements before being pumped up for use. The mineral-rich hot water is then directed to the Thanh Thuy Hot Springs pools for bathing.
Unlike mineral water heated through simple absorption, this hot spring water is heated through volcanic geothermal activity, contributing to the presence of elements like radon and bromine. The mineral composition of this water is quite distinct, stemming from deep magma chambers beneath the earth’s surface, such as those found in volcanic regions.
Geological studies suggest that the Thanh Thuy hot spring reservoir is formed by fractures in the earth's crust, extending over 1 km² with a reserve of nearly 20 million cubic meters of hot water, flowing along the Da River.

7. Hung Temple
Hung Temple is located atop Hung Mountain, in Phong Chau, the ancient capital of the Van Lang state. This region is considered the sacred land of the ancestors, the birthplace and foundation of all Vietnamese ethnic groups. The complex includes four temples, one pagoda, a tomb, and various other architectural structures, all harmoniously integrated into the breathtaking natural landscape, where the spiritual essence of the land converges.
The Thien Quang Pagoda was built in a traditional architectural style, with the structure comprising a five-bay front hall, two-bay incense offering hall, and a three-bay main hall. Behind, a corridor and abbot’s house complete the layout. The pagoda is supported by wooden columns and features ornate roof decorations. The roof is tiled with curved ridge tiles, and the front hall’s roof features two dragons facing the moon. The pagoda follows Mahayana Buddhist traditions.
The Lower Temple was reconstructed on its original site in the 17th-18th century, designed in a “two-part” style with a front worship hall and a rear sanctuary, each consisting of three bays. The architecture is simple, with beams supported by trusses, resulting in a rear roof extending further than the front. A distinctive arched door with two columns, each adorned with a lion statue, leads into the temple. Above the gate, the inscription reads: 'Chung Son Tieu That' (a small house in the mountains).
The Au Co Ancestor Temple was built on the summit of Oc Mountain (also known as Vanh Mountain) in 2001 and completed in December 2004. The temple features several architectural components: the main temple, two side wings, a stone stele house, a bell tower, a three-gate entrance, a guest house, and expansive courtyards and gardens. Inside, a bronze statue of Lac Long Quan stands on a stone pedestal, with intricately carved incense burners.
The Hung Kings' Tomb is believed to be the burial site of the sixth Hung King. It is located east of the Upper Temple, positioned with its head facing the mountain and feet facing the river, facing southeast. The tomb is inscribed with a stone stele, with the words 'Hung Kings Tomb' written on three sides of the structure.
The Hung Temple Festival is one of the most significant national celebrations in Vietnam. Notably, the worship of the Hung Kings was recently recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
