1. Basket Dance
When it comes to simple and unique performance acts to celebrate March 26th, one cannot overlook the basket dance. This is a distinctive folk dance of the Muong ethnic group on joyful occasions, during spring festivals, and nowadays it has expanded to many other ethnic groups. The necessary props for the basket dance include two long straight bamboo poles as the main stands and several pairs of small bamboo poles (3 to 4cm in diameter, 3 to 4m long). During the dance, two main stands are placed at a suitable distance to support the ends of the smaller bamboo poles, which are placed parallel and evenly spaced to form a set of stands.
Participants are divided into a group for drumming on the stands and a group for dancing. Each group can consist of several pairs of dancers, the more the merrier, creating a diverse and lively formation. The basket dance showcases the youthfulness, agility, and enthusiastic spirit of the young generation. This is a quite interesting and easy-to-learn dance to perform on the upcoming March 26th.
