7. Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Power Plant
The Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Power Plant is located at Hoa Binh Lake, in Hoa Binh Province, along the Da River in northern Vietnam. It is currently the largest hydroelectric project in both Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The plant was built with assistance from the Soviet Union and is operated with their support.
Construction began on November 6, 1979, and the plant was officially completed on December 20, 1994. The plant’s designed capacity is 1,920 MW, consisting of eight turbine units, each with a capacity of 240,000 KW. It generates an annual output of 8.16 billion kWh. After 15 years of construction, including nine years of managing operations and supervising the construction of the turbines, the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Power Plant was inaugurated.
In recent years, the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant has attracted more and more visitors. When you visit, you’ll witness the stunning architecture and be amazed by the human ingenuity behind the damming of the river to create such a massive hydroelectric facility. It has become one of the top tourist attractions in Hoa Binh that you should definitely visit.

8. Nine Waterfalls of Tu Son
