Since the release of TFT season 6, Jhin has been hailed as the most stable carry. With substantial late-game damage, supported by a team providing healing and shielding, the Jhin - Protector - Sorcerer lineup consistently achieves high rankings. To climb ranks securely, Jhin is the cornerstone.
However, for Challenger players, Jhin's value isn't as significant. According to T1's Bebe872, Jhin is a safe pick for securing a top 4 spot but unlikely to clinch top 1. This lineup struggles against top meta team comps, resulting in slower eliminations compared to others.
T1 Bebe872: 'Jhin can't beat current meta compositions. I believe this lineup will lose 100% of the time against Assassins, Inventors, and sometimes even Chemtechs. Don't misunderstand, it's still a good lineup for securing top 4 and preserving health. However, Jhin rarely secures the top spot, so avoid this unit if victory is your goal.'
Furthermore, it's not advisable to switch to Jhin during a losing streak. As I mentioned, this lineup struggles against meta team comps. If you've lost too much health from a losing streak, you'll likely be eliminated early when playing Jhin.'

However, unlocking Jhin's breakthrough strength requires sacrificing Sorcerer units for a 4 or 6 Gunslinger setup (with accompanying Gloves or core upgrades).
