Top Games Revealed at The Game Awards 2023

In contrast to the seemingly fading E3 expo, Geoff Keighley's annual game awards event is stronger than ever. Each year, more game companies send their trailers to participate in the show, bringing fresh information to gamers. Some games choose this event for their initial announcements. The Game Awards 2023 continued to be larger than life with tons of exciting news from all around.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake

After leaking earlier in the week, the trailer for the game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake was showcased at the beginning of The Game Awards 2023. So, after exactly 10 years, the game version with a unique cooperative play between 2 individual characters has been remade in a modern style. The game will be released on 28/2/2024 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

World of Goo 2

Another familiar face with a new look. World of Goo 2 continues the first version released 15 years ago. This is a puzzle game with a unique gameplay where players connect points with black, gooey drops like... sewage to create sturdy bridges. The game is expected to be released next year.

Exodus

The first new game announced at The Game Awards 2023 is Exodus. This is a product of Archetype Entertainment that talks about a future world where humans have to fight against extraterrestrial forces. Humans are in a desperate situation, and a pair of astronauts find an important key to victory, but they have to sacrifice to preserve this key, leading to an exciting battle for players to participate in.

God of War Ragnarok - Valhalla DLC

God of War brings a surprise to The Game Awards 2023 by announcing the Valhalla DLC. This DLC will be released on 12/12 and is completely free for gamers. This additional content is a new adventure of Kratos in a personal journey. Kratos will confront new enemies along with additional equipment.

No Rest for the Wicked

The famous studio behind the Ori series introduces a new role-playing game called No Rest for the Wicked. This is a well-designed 3D hack-and-slash role-playing game. The gameplay may remind players of popular titles like Diablo 4 or Darksiders Genesis. The product will be released on Steam around Q1/2024 and then sequentially on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S.

Sega and Classic Game Bundle

Sega surprises at The Game Awards 2023 by announcing 5 games at once in the same trailer without revealing anything. It's simply made like a commercial video with 5 game titles and some short scenes. These products are all classic names that have been remade, including Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage. Sega announced that there will be many more games, and all will be released gradually in the coming years.

Visions of Mana

After 15 years of silence, Square Enix finally introduces a new game for the renowned Mana series. This time, players will step into the magical Mana world in the role of a carefree boy named Val, accompanied by his friends on a journey to the legendary Tree of Mana. The game will be released next year on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.

OD

Hideo Kojima surprisingly announces a horror game project in collaboration with director Jordan Peele called OD. The trailer features characters played by some famous names such as Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier. Notably, this game belongs to the Xbox Studios system, meaning it may be exclusive to Xbox initially.

Black Myth Wukong

This is no longer a new name. However, what Black Myth Wukong brings to The Game Awards 2023 is equally fascinating. It's a trailer that reveals many aspects of the game's storyline and the identity of Wukong. Along with that, the official release date is announced: 20/8/2024. The product will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

Studio Don’t Nod, known for the Life is Strange series, is back with a new title, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. The trailer shows that this is a horror game depicting a group of teen friends discovering something in the forest and keeping it a secret for 20 years. Now that everyone has grown up, this secret seems to be revealed. The game is expected to be released in late 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Marvel's Blade

The game about the vampire hunter character Blade from Marvel will be developed by Arkane Lyon, the studio that previously worked on the Dishonored and Deathloop series. According to Marvel's description, the game will be set in an isolated district in Paris during a supernatural incident. Of course, everyone knows that vampires are rising, and Blade is there to join the fun.

Light No Fire

The studio behind No Man’s Sky has announced its ambitious next project, Light No Fire. This is an adventure, crafting, cooperative exploration game with an extremely vast open world. The game is set in a fantasy-style planet with a size equivalent to Earth. The open world of the game will be extremely diverse and vast, as if it were an unlimited, complete planet with many different environments.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom continues to bring a new game to The Game Awards 2023 in the Monster Hunter series. The name mentioned this time is Monster Hunter Wilds. The video content shows a desert-style world with many new gigantic creatures. Especially, the character's mount can both run and fly like a bird. The game is expected to be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
