The 'golden season' of tourism in Da Lat falls around late autumn to early winter, when wild sunflowers, butterfly flowers, and pink grass proudly display their stunning beauty.
Three compelling reasons to go on a trip to Da Lat right away before you miss the 'golden season'
Traveling to Da Lat is always delightful, but it's during the transition to fall when the city emerges from mist with its mesmerizing wildflowers. November, when most tourist spots are deserted, happens to be the time when Da Lat is fondly remembered by travelers for scheduling romantic getaways.
Wild Sunflowers

It's not the glamorous flowers in botanical gardens or flower festivals that come to mind when one thinks of Da Lat, but rather the wild sunflowers that epitomize the rugged mountainous charm. Wild sunflowers aren't cultivated for any specific purpose; they often grow untamed along roadsides, forming large bushes towering over human heads. With large single-layer petals akin to sunflowers but only one layer, they boast vibrant colors.
The wild sunflower season starts in late October and peaks in November. During this time, the entire landscape is ablaze with vibrant yellow, creating a fall color palette like no other. Everywhere you look, you'll easily spot the flower symbolizing the love of the Central Highlands, flaunting its beauty under the sunlight, from rugged trails to sprawling valleys.
During this season, young couples often rent motorcycles while families opt for self-driving cars to explore roads adorned with beautiful wild sunflowers, such as the routes from Da Lat to Lien Khuong (via Highway 20) to Nam Ban to Ta Nung, Da Lat to Cau Dat to Dran to Don Duong to Chau Son to Phi Nom to Tu Tra, and Da Lat to Van Thanh flower village to Ta Nung to Elephant Waterfall to Langbiang.
The best time to admire wild sunflowers is at 9 a.m. when the sun rises and casts warm rays onto the petals.
Butterfly Wing Flower Garden

This is the freshest discovery of this autumn in Da Lat. Dalat Milk Farm is no longer unfamiliar with its many beautifully arranged flower fields resembling an outdoor movie set. However, this year, visitors who have been here before still have reasons to return due to the appearance of a brand new flower field - the seven-colored butterfly wing flower.
If you used to envy the young people in South Korea for their massive butterfly wing flower gardens, now you don't have to travel far. Right here in Da Lat, you can also create 'thousands of selfie styles.' The gentle hues of pink, purple, red, orange, white, and yellow intermingle, with petals as delicate as a thousand butterfly wings fluttering in the wind.
The farm is conveniently located near the center of Da Lat city and the road is fairly easy to navigate. Being a popular check-in spot, there are many signs along the way, and you may encounter fellow travelers on the journey. Situated in Tutra commune, Don Duong district, Lam Dong province, the farm boasts numerous flower fields interspersed with wide grassy meadows and large lakes, creating a romantic atmosphere. The tourism services here are quite comprehensive, so you don't need to prepare much.
Pink Grass Field

Emerging just about 2 years ago, the pink grass fields have become a hallmark of Da Lat's autumn and are among the must-visit destinations when traveling to Da Lat. In November, patches of pink grass, with tiny petals, spread evenly over a large expanse, alongside a peaceful lake, making tourists feel like they've stepped into a fairyland.
Pink grass grows wild in clusters, appearing long ago and quite familiar to local residents. In the morning, the grass is whitish, but as soon as the sun rises, under the gentle sunlight, the entire area turns pink, floating like a carpet of clouds on the ground. If you come here on sunny days, you'll capture beautiful photos without needing any edits.
The pink grass fields are in a fairly secluded area from the bustling urban areas. From the center of Da Lat, you take the route along Tran Hung Dao Street - Hung Vuong towards Trai Mat intersection, turn left towards the Thai Phien flower village. Keep going for about 2 km more, and you'll find it. It's best to go around 9 a.m. or 4 p.m. to avoid harsh sunlight. The pink grass season lasts from around November to December, attracting many professional and amateur photographers, as well as nature-loving travelers.
