2. Simple Method for Cooking Beef Stew Without Using Seasoning Packets
Step 1: Preparing the Ingredients for Cooking Beef Stew
- Peel and crush ginger, then put it in a large bowl, add a pinch of salt and a bit of wine. Rub the beef into the mixture to clean and remove the meat's odor.
- Rinse the beef thoroughly and blanch it with hot water. Then cut it into pieces, avoiding cutting it too thin to prevent it from breaking during stewing.
- Peel and wash carrots, cut into flower shapes or chunks (but remember, don't cut them too small).
- Peel garlic and shallots, then finely chop them. Peel lemongrass, discard the tough outer layer, and cut into segments.

Step 3: Proceed to cook the beef stew
- Heat the pot on the stove, add oil and sauté garlic and shallots until fragrant (if you have a pressure cooker, it's recommended to use it for faster cooking). Once the garlic and shallots are fragrant, add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned. If the color of the beef stew in the pot is not to your liking, you can add a little more vegetable oil.
- Next, add 350ml of water or enough water to cover the meat, then add the cinnamon and peppercorns (you can put them in a tea bag for easier removal). Then simmer the beef until tender, then add the carrots and simmer over low heat until the carrots are cooked. Taste and adjust the seasoning to your family's preference.

- Finally, dissolve some cornstarch in water and add it to the beef stew. Stir well, cook for 1 - 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
