In a preliminary investigation, authorities conclude that the phone explosion may be attributed to the girl's prolonged use, resulting in excessive battery heating.
As reported by Indian media, the incident occurred around 10:30 PM on April 24. Adithyasree, an 8-year-old from Thrissur, Kerala, India, was lying on her bed watching cartoons on her mobile when a sudden, intense explosion occurred.
The loud explosion startled even nearby neighbors, prompting them to rush in concern. After regaining composure, Adithyasree's grandmother hastily entered the room, discovering severe injuries to the girl's face and right hand. The child lay unconscious in a pool of blood.

Despite being swiftly taken to the emergency hospital, Adithyasree couldn't overcome the tragedy, leaving everyone in mourning and shock.
According to Adithyasree's relatives, at the time of the incident, only her grandmother and Adithyasree were at home. Adithyasree, a cartoon enthusiast, would often lie on her bed with her phone after school, indulging in her favorite pastime for hours, sometimes the entire day.
After a preliminary investigation, law enforcement identifies that the phone explosion likely resulted from the girl's extended usage, causing the battery to excessively overheat before detonating. It is known that the phone, purchased by Adithyasree's uncle three years ago, had a new battery replacement just three months ago. However, whether the new battery is authentic remains unclear.
