The peaceful scenery is easily felt by travelers when visiting Canh Duong - a small fishing village situated where the gentle Bù Lu River flows into the beautiful Canh Duong Sea.
Explore the serene fishing village on the Bù Lu River while touring Hue

According to historical records, during his first royal expedition in the summer of 1916, King Khai Dinh discovered a place as beautiful as a painting, namely Lăng Cô Bay, located 60 km south of the ancient capital of Hue.
Today, Lăng Cô is a destination that everyone visiting Hue tourism wants to explore. Upon reaching Lăng Cô, many tourists often visit Canh Duong Beach, situated near Chan May Port, to swim and have fun. Canh Duong Beach stretches over 4 km, forming a crescent shape, with a gentle slope and smooth white sand.

Right at the mouth of Canh Duong Sea lies the tranquil fishing village of the same name. Here, there is a 4-hectare mangrove forest located amidst the Bù Lu River flowing into the sea. The mangrove forest is one of the factors that add to the beauty of the small fishing village nestled deeply in Lăng Cô Bay in Lăng Cô town, Thừa Thiên-Huế province.

Embarking on a journey to Hue, I arrived at the serene Canh Duong fishing village at 11:00 a.m. on a beautiful sunny day. At that time, the fishermen had returned home, leaving only the boats gently swaying on the water amidst the distant mangrove forests and the locals' fishing nets. After conversing with a few fishermen in the village, I encountered fisherman Tran Cuong, who agreed to take me on a coracle boat tour around the mangrove forest. It was an unforgettable experience witnessing fishermen using nets to catch fish or diving beneath the river to fish, while also enjoying the refreshing air.

Mr. Cuong mentioned that the mangrove forest was planted to prevent soil erosion, ensuring stable living conditions for approximately 10 households in the fishing village while inadvertently creating a picturesque scene. Moreover, this mangrove forest serves as an additional source of income for the locals through harvesting oysters clinging to the mangrove roots. However, there are still few fishermen in the village earning a livelihood by fishing at sea at night or casting nets on the Bù Lu River during the day. Their income is not as stable as working in tourist areas near Lăng Cô, prompting Mr. Cuong to hope for the local authorities' attention and cooperation with tourist areas in Lăng Cô to include the fishing village as a tourist destination, thereby improving the locals' income.

A 45-minute coracle boat tour in Canh Duong fishing village costs 50,000 VND. Each coracle boat can accommodate a maximum of three people (including the boatman).
