How to Get to Thác Bà

You can travel from Phan Thiết (approximately 100km away), from Saigon (about 140km away), or from Đạmri Town, Đạ Huoai, Lâm Đồng (around 40km away). Each route offers its own unique beauty and leaves visitors mesmerized.
For young backpackers from Phan Thiết or Ho Chi Minh City, after a day of exploring the waterfall, they often enjoy heading towards Đạmri Town, conquering the winding and adventurous roads of Tà Pứa Pass, which stretches over 5km. Standing at the summit, looking down, the landscape of Tánh Linh, Bình Thuận, appears breathtakingly beautiful.
Legend of Mount Ông – Thác Bà
The residents of Tánh Linh always recount a touching story, shrouded in mystery, intertwining Mount Ông and Thác Bà. Legend has it that long ago, a loving couple lived atop the mountain. However, one day, the husband went up the mountain to play chess with a celestial being.
Both skilled chess players, the game between the two lasted days into nights, months into months, years into years, amidst the wife's patient wait. The wife, waiting at home, awaited her husband until her hair turned as white as clouds, and then she passed away, transforming into a waterfall.
When the chess game concluded, the husband returned only to find his wife gone. Consumed by anger and regret, overwhelmed with longing for his wife, he passed away and transformed into the peak of Mount Ông today, embracing the Thác Bà stream in his heart to forever stay by his beloved wife's side. To this day, a shrine dedicated to him remains atop the mountain.
What Does Thác Bà Bình Thuận Offer
To reach Thác Bà in Bình Thuận, travelers must embrace the exhilarating feeling of anticipation as they traverse the hidden narrow trails beneath towering ancient trees, experiencing the slippery sensation, and enduring the intense heat while navigating through large boulders.
In return, visitors will behold the complete panorama of the stunning beauty of the cascading white water gracefully winding through rocky slopes, reminiscent of the flowing long hair of a woman. The strong gray hues of the rocky mountains, the pure white of the waterfalls, and the lush green of the forest combine to create a majestic yet serenely peaceful natural landscape.
According to local forest experts, Thác Bà in Bình Thuận boasts 9 tiers, each ranging from 15 to 25 meters in height. However, due to the challenging terrain and lack of development, tourists can currently only explore three of them: tiers 7, 8, and 9.
Tier 7 is robust with streams of water cascading fiercely and pouring straight down from a height of 15 meters. Tier 8, on the other hand, resembles a gentle maiden, weaving through large rocks before spreading out into a small, crystal-clear pond. From this pond, the water flows over small rocky ledges, sometimes turbulent, sometimes gentle, traversing nearly 20-meter-high rocky slopes before merging into a small stream at the foot of the waterfall, forming tier 9.
Looking down from above, the closely stacked rocks at the foot of Thác Bà Bình Thuận stand solemnly, reminiscent of vigilant soldiers guarding the eternal slumber of their master's flowing locks.
