In recent updates, Messenger has introduced new features to be more mobile-friendly but still maintains an edge over the desktop version. One of these features is group chat, making the transformation of group chat functions more enjoyable and exciting.
Moreover, Messenger has also changed the location of viewing messages from Facebook's new message filtering. If you're having trouble figuring out how to check hidden messages in your Messenger from new acquaintances or strangers, check out the article with the same name introduced by Mytour.
Transforming Group Chat Features on Messenger
Step 1: Click on the letter 'i' icon at the top right corner of the application (Follow along with Image 1)
Step 2: Scroll down to the Settings.
Here, you can customize various functions within a group chat.
- Notifications: In this option, you can choose to mute notifications from group members for a specified duration: 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, or until the user cancels this option. Press OK to confirm.
- Color: This option allows you to set the color for the entire conversation. The default color of the conversation will be blue, but users have 14 different color combinations to choose from. After setting, you will see all chat bubbles and other details transition to the color you selected.
- Emoji Icon: Facebook offers users a variety of different emoji icons to choose as the main emoji for the entire conversation, including the Like button as the default.
- Nicknames: In the latest Messenger version, Facebook has added the feature to set nicknames for each person in the group chat. Setting nicknames makes the conversation more comfortable, open, and enjoyable.
Step 3: In the Group Details settings, you can freely modify the group chat name, add new members to the conversation, make private calls, view profiles, or individually remove members from the group.
Step 4: Click on the three-dot icon to access additional supplementary functions.
- Open Avatar During Chat: Activate Messenger as a small movable circular icon.
- Change Group Picture: This is the group chat's profile picture in a circular form that appears when opening Messenger.
- Rename: Rename the group chat.
- Create Shortcut: Establish an application icon on the screen for easier access to the conversation.
- Delete Conversation: Erase all exchanges within the conversation.
- Leave Group: Voluntarily withdraw from the group.
- Report an Issue: Capture a screenshot of the issue and report it to Facebook.
It's important to note that in a group chat, everyone has equal rights, so both you and others have the authority to remove someone from the group chat.
Messenger is an excellent Facebook-integrated online chat tool with SMS messaging capabilities. Due to its robust connectivity, Messenger is more popular than many other messaging and chatting apps like Zalo. If you've used Messenger frequently as a tool to stay in touch with a work group, you probably know about group calling on Facebook Messenger. Group calling on Messenger, similar to Skype, involves live video calls or regular voice calls using internet connectivity.
In case you no longer wish to chat within the group for any reason, exiting the group chat or leaving the group will be the primary solution. The process can be accomplished through the settings features we've shared in this article, so readers, please pay attention and follow along.
Wishing you all success!
