1. Modifying Key Functions with SharpKeys
Step 1: To begin, launch the software and select Add to start adding the key you want to modify.
Step 2: Now, the Key Mapping window will appear. In the main interface, you'll find two columns: Original Key
Your task now is to choose the Original Key (the key you want to change) and select the Key To Become (change the function of the original key to…)
Example: If you want to change the Email key to the function of the Calculator key, follow these steps: Choose the Email key in the Original Key column and select the Calculator key in the Key To Become column.
On the keyboard, there are numerous function keys, so you can select Type Key – press a key to search for it in the list.
Step 3: Once you've chosen the key to modify and its function, press OK to proceed.
Step 4: Now, a list will appear with Original Key (From) and Key To Become (To). Verify that it matches our key function conversion needs before continuing.
Next, choose Write to Registry to save the changes.
Step 5: Finally, a notification will confirm the successful key function conversion. Now, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
2. Restoring Default Key Functions with SharpKeys
If you no longer wish to alter key functions, follow these steps:
Step 1: In the main interface of SharpKeys, select Delete All to remove all previously modified key functions.
Step 2: Next, choose Write to Registry, and restarting your computer completes the process.
