Turning your Viettel SIM into an eSim allows compatibility with premium devices like iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and more. In this article, Mytour guides you on the process of converting your physical Viettel SIM to an eSim online from the comfort of your home.
Important Note: When converting your Viettel SIM to eSim, your contacts and account balance will remain intact. However, you cannot switch back from eSim to a physical SIM. If you wish to revert to a physical SIM, you will need to visit a Viettel Store.
Step 1: Viettel provides support for users to change their physical SIM to eSim through the My Viettel app developed by the company. You can download the app using the links below.

For Android enthusiasts, the adventure continues with the Android version - My Viettel for Android.
After successfully downloading the app, open My Viettel and log in with the phone number you want to convert to an eSim.
Step 2: Select Other Utilities => Change Sim => Switch to eSim to initiate the registration process for the eSim profile.
Step 3: Before transitioning from a physical SIM to an eSim, make sure that your device supports eSim. You can find this information by checking the technical specifications of your phone, tablet, smartwatch, or consulting a store advisor.
Step 4: The profile transition from physical SIM to eSim will contain complete personal information (retrieved from the original SIM registration data). Capture your ID card/passport and upload a photo of yourself (e-KYC confirmation) to complete the process.
Next, you need to verify your electronic signature and commit to the information provided in the profile to proceed.
Step 5: Currently, Viettel charges 25,000 VND for the physical-to-eSim profile. Payment can be made through various channels such as Viettel Pay, Viettel Money, ATM, Visa/MasterCard, and more.
After successful payment, wait for 2-3 minutes as Viettel disconnects and reconnects the new signal for your SIM card.
Step 6: Upon receiving the notification “eSim Conversion Successful,” select the option to View the QR Code (information needed to activate the SIM on your device).
Step 7: With the eSim QR Code in hand, activate it on any device by opening the Camera and scanning the QR Code.
After successfully using the QR Code to activate the eSim, make sure to keep a record of it, as these codes are crucial for future restoration or removal of the eSim.
