For travelers from Saigon or southern provinces, flying is a good option for your trip. To reach Ha Tinh, you will need to fly to Vinh Airport and then take a taxi or bus to Ha Tinh.

By bus

If you choose to travel by bus, opt for sleeper buses for the most comfortable and enjoyable journey. You can catch a bus at Mien Dong Bus Station.

If traveling from Hanoi to Ha Tinh, your journey will cover 434km, taking about 7 hours, with an average ticket price of around 230,000 VND.

For those traveling from Saigon to Ha Tinh, the journey covers 1384km, lasting 28 hours continuously, with a ticket price of 615,000 VND.

By train

Another popular and convenient mode of transportation is by train. For travelers wanting to reach Ha Tinh by train, you will also need to travel to the intermediate stop, Vinh City, and then take a bus for about 50km to return to Ha Tinh. The train ticket prices for the Hanoi - Vinh route range from 280,000 to 550,000 VND, while the Saigon - Vinh route is about 600,000 - 1,300,000 VND.

Motorbike

Motorbikes are suitable for travelers from Hanoi or nearby provinces because the distance from Hanoi to Ha Tinh is 300km, perfect for a road trip. However, one thing to note when traveling to Ha Tinh by motorbike is to choose warm days for your trip, avoiding winter when the climate becomes harsh and cold. When traveling, make sure to prepare all necessary documents and pay attention to safety.

You can travel from Hanoi to Ha Tinh along the following route:

From downtown Hanoi, you start by heading towards Duong Lang - Hoa Lac straight ahead. Then turn left onto 21B road straight to Xuan Mai intersection. From this intersection, turn right onto National Highway 6A and then straight onto Ho Chi Minh road. This road is spacious with few vehicles, convenient for sightseeing or stopping to take photos.

After traveling 250km on Ho Chi Minh road, you will reach Thai Hoa intersection, where you turn left onto National Highway 48. After about 25km, you will reach National Highway 1A. Follow this highway for 70km and you will arrive in Ha Tinh.

Ha Tinh is not as bustling as Da Nang, does not have internationally quality amusement parks like Nha Trang, nor is it a misty city with strawberry fields or small vegetable gardens. Thien Cam Beach

Thien Cam is renowned as the most beautiful beach in Ha Tinh and one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, with crystal-clear water and stretches of white sand. Thien Cam Beach is located in Cam Xuyen district, over 20km from Ha Tinh city. Legend has it that when the Hung Kings were traveling south, they heard the sound of waves echoing in the mountain cave, resembling the sound of a musical instrument, so they named it Thien Cam Beach.

Thien Cam Beach stretches like a bow, 3km long from Thien Cam Mountain to Dau Voi Mountain, along with Cum Nay and Cum Con, creating piano keys along the Ky La stream. Here, you can immerse yourself in cool water and relax on the long stretches of white sand.

Huong Tich Pagoda

Huong Tich Pagoda is located on Huong Tich Mountain in Thien Loc commune, Cam Loc district, on the summit of Ngan Hong, Huong Tich Mountain in the Hong Linh range. To reach Huong Tich Pagoda, tourists can start from National Highway 1A, pass through Nghen Town, and travel about 5km eastward to the foot of Hong Linh Mountain.

There are two routes to choose from to reach Huong Tich Pagoda: For those who want to conquer the road, they can go along the mountain ridge to Linh Son Temple. Or if you want to admire the majestic river scenery, you can enjoy the landscape on boats downstream on the Nhà Đường River.

Chiêu Trưng Temple

Ram cake

Anyone visiting Ha Tinh cannot miss out on this local delicacy. Ram is made from vermicelli, chili, pepper, nham, and betel leaves wrapped with fried golden rice cakes. Ha Tinh steamed rice cakes are made from translucent flour cakes, filled with peeled baby shrimp or stir-fried lean pork with dried shallots, enjoyed with herbs and a dipping sauce that is sour, spicy, fresh, and rich. The cakes can be eaten hot or cold; when cold, they are chewier and crunchier than when hot.

La River clams

La River clams are a memorable delicacy of the people of Ben Hen village, which has a history of over 300 years with clam digging. The clams must be boiled over a high flame, brought to a full boil, and then stirred evenly; otherwise, the clams won't open. The clams here are both sweet and flavorful; those who have tried them cannot help but praise them. The people of Ben Hen have a saying: 'Sweet clams, full and cheap, who will buy?'

Vung Ang jumping squid

The squid jumping season usually starts from March to the end of July. To get a batch of fresh and delicious squid, people have to go fishing at night, put them in the boat's hold, and sell them to restaurants. Visitors will be able to handpick the squid they are most satisfied with for the chef to prepare. The simplest and quickest way to prepare squid is to boil the fresh squid and then eat it with ginger fish sauce or tamarind sauce. The price of squid is not expensive, falling around 300,000 - 350,000 VND.

Duc Tho beef vermicelli

Vermicelli is a traditional and familiar dish of the Vietnamese people, but Duc Tho vermicelli has its own unique characteristics. Duc Tho vermicelli is not made by machine but still retains its traditional features, made by hand so the vermicelli strands are thick and have a light brown color because they do not undergo the bleaching process like machine-made vermicelli. Although the appearance is not as beautiful as other types of vermicelli, Duc Tho beef vermicelli conquers discerning guests with its chewy, fragrant, and delicious taste. If you have the opportunity to visit Ha Tinh, be sure to stop by any roadside eatery to enjoy grilled pork vermicelli, a gift that seems all too familiar to us. But when enjoying this dish in Ha Tinh, it brings a rural flavor with a difference in the dipping sauce: Soy sauce. People in Ha Tinh do not eat grilled pork vermicelli with fish sauce or bone broth like people in the North, but the accompanying condiment is soy sauce. Locals call this condiment 'cheo,' made from soy sauce, mixed with crushed roasted peanuts, combined with chili, garlic, and sugar to create all the flavors of sour, spicy, salty, and sweet for the dipping sauce.

Hà Tĩnh rice porridge soup

This dish may look simple from the outside, just like a bowl of noodles, but it contains all the basic flavors and textures of a sweet, sour, spicy dish. The flour is rolled into noodles like vermicelli and then poured into a broth that has been simmered from pork bones, served with pork leg, a little shrimp, meat, and fresh onions.
