Internet Download Manager (IDM) not only allows simultaneous downloading of multiple data but also supports various data formats available in the market, from installation software to image files, video files, and audio files with different formats. IDM's manufacturer provides only a fraction of these formats, but still allows you to add new ones for downloading when using the utility.
Guide to Adding New File Formats for Download
Step 1: After installing IDM, open the browser by clicking the IDM (Internet Download Manager) icon on the Desktop (if during installation, you chose to place the icon on the Desktop).
Alternatively, from the Start Menu in the Search Programs and files section, type in Internet Download Manager, and the search results will be displayed immediately on the screen.
Step 2: On the toolbar, select Downloads --> Options to add new formats.
Step 3: From the Options ---> File Types window
In the Automatically start downloading the following file types box containing file formats that IDM can download. Check if the format you need to download is already in this box, if not, add it manually.
From this point onward, Mytour can additionally download Flash videos in FLV format for use on the computer. Besides FLV, you can also add various other file formats as desired.
Moreover, you might encounter situations where IDM fails to automatically capture video download links on YouTube or Facebook, or doesn't capture links on music sharing websites. In such cases, you need to fix IDM's failure to automatically capture download links, as Mytour has instructed in previous articles. The solution is quite simple, you just need to enable the IDM CC add-on in your browser settings and activate the browser in IDM settings.
