Troubleshooting the issue of unable to change FPT Wifi password
1. Check the access address for FPT WiFi
Usually, we access the management section of the WiFi Modem through the address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, but are you sure these are the only two addresses to access it? In reality, there are many different types of addresses specified by the manufacturer or set by the installer that you may not be aware of. Therefore, you should check the Default Gateway - the default gateway to access the FPT WiFi settings first:
Step 1: First, press the Windows key + R, then type CMD in it, and press OK to open Command Prompt.
Step 2: Now, enter the command ipconfig here to check your computer's IP as well as the Default Gateway - the current default port to access the Modem.
Afterward, you can use that Default Gateway address to log in to the management section and change the FPT Wifi password.
2. Incorrect Admin Account Login
To change the password, we all know that we need to access the Modem Wifi administration section, and more specifically, you need an account to log in. Usually, we are set as admin/admin or user/root, but if you enter that and still can't get in, what's the issue?
If you are certain that you are the sole user of this network and know its password, chances are the WiFi password is no longer default. In some network installations, staff may set your password to match the Internet contract. Try using 'Admin' as the username and your Internet contract as the password. 3. Multiple Active WiFi Modems
If your network is a branch connected to the main Modem or another branch's Modem, it's not surprising that you can't change the FPT Wifi password. In this case, your Modem's IP address will depend entirely on the main Modem. While not all, but mostly, the settings have DHCP turned off to let the Modem automatically assign IPs.
If you find yourself in this situation, the best solution is to disconnect your Modem from the main Modem, directly connect the cable from your Modem to your computer or laptop, then follow the instructions above to find the Default Gateway and access the administration section.
