Internet Download Manager (IDM) is software that helps you download multiple data simultaneously regardless of format. However, there have been numerous occasions where you felt annoyed because IDM keeps automatically capturing links while watching movies or listening to music online without allowing direct viewing.
To address this issue, you can employ various methods. Mytour will guide you through all of them.
Guide to Troubleshooting IDM Automatic Link Capture
Upgrade IDM for optimal software support. Download the latest version of IDM here: Download IDM
Step 1: After installing IDM, open your browser by clicking on the IDM (Internet Download Manager) icon on the Desktop (if you chose to place the icon on the Desktop during installation).
Alternatively, from the Start Menu search bar under Search Programs and files, enter the keyword Internet Download Manager, and search results will immediately appear on the screen.
Step 2: From the IDM toolbar, click Downloads ---> Options to modify certain settings.
In the Options window, there are two ways to troubleshoot this automatic link capture.
Method 1 : From the Options window, select General. Here, you'll see a list of Web browsers that the manufacturer allows you to download data from.
Troubleshoot IDM's automatic link capture by deselecting one or more browsers you're using (for example, at Mytour, we'll deselect Google Chrome - as we don't want IDM to capture links in this browser).
Click OK to save the settings.
Method 2: Also from the Options window, select File Types.
If in the previous guide, Mytour instructed you on how to add file formats for IDM download in the File Types tab, then in this guide, to address IDM's automatic link capture issue, you simply need to delete some file formats so that IDM cannot download in the Automatically start downloading the following file types: box (or delete all file formats if desired).
With just a small trick, you can alleviate your annoyance when IDM automatically captures links every time you want to listen to music or watch online videos.
