TSMC has reportedly initiated the production of the A15 chip for the upcoming iPhone

Sources informed DigiTimes that TSMC has commenced mass production of A15 processors for Apple. These chips are expected to feature in the next generation of iPhones set to debut in the latter half of this year. The early production in May, ahead of schedule, raises hopes that this year's iPhone release won't face the delays experienced last year.

The A15 chip will continue to utilize the 5nm process, similar to the A14 used in the iPhone 12. The introduction of the first 4nm chips is anticipated in 2022. As for the new iPhone, it is rumored to retain the design of the iPhone 12, with a larger camera module. Notably, the notch is expected to shrink after nearly four years since its introduction to the market.
