With most people worldwide currently practicing isolation due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, streaming and watching live gameplay online can be one of the best pastimes for many. Perhaps many have been drawn in by the streams of COD: Warzone or Apex Legends on Twitch. But Twitch is now seeking to change the dynamic feature of the platform by introducing 'interactive games.'

It may sound insane, but the company recently confirmed its future plans to the New York Times. Twitch, owned by Amazon, is gearing up to introduce an interactive gaming suite, slated to launch this summer.
Interactive games, as the name suggests, will be titles where viewers can play with streamers in real-time. It may involve additional fees, on-the-spot controls, and long queues whenever a feature or game appears on the platform, but it's sure to be a blast playing alongside top streamers like Grimmz, Tfue, DrDisrespect, and others.
Information about these interactive titles is relatively scarce at the moment. Amazon has only lightly touched on the subject while deeply discussing its gaming endeavors. This includes 2 upcoming titles - an FPS game in the battle royale genre called Crucible and an open-world MMOG titled New World. However, their release has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gaming on the cloud is another field that Amazon is currently exploring. With the rise of cloud gaming platforms like Nvidia GeForce Now, Google Stadia, and Microsoft Project xCloud, it's only natural for Amazon (a leading cloud computing company) to consider its prospects in this booming space. Tempo Project, as reports suggest, is the internal codename for the project. We may learn more about this project by the end of this year, but an official launch is unlikely until 2021.
