Twitter initiated CoTweets feature testing on selected accounts in the United States, Canada, and South Korea last July, allowing users to become co-authors of a tweet. However, after the trial period, this feature has been removed by Twitter.
Twitter is removing co-authored tweets in less than a year
On its support page, Twitter announced the end of CoTweets feature testing and will temporarily hide these co-authored tweets for 1 month. After this period, users may see these tweets again as retweets.

Specifically, if users have invited someone to CoTweet with them, that tweet will still be saved on the account. For those invited to join a tweet, CoTweets will be converted to retweets from another account.
On the other hand, Twitter still leaves open the possibility of reintroducing the co-authored tweet feature in the future, confirming that the company is still exploring ways to implement CoTweets at another time. However, with 80% of the staff having left Twitter since Elon Musk took over at the end of October, users may have to wait a long time to experience this feature again. Expectedly, Twitter will also make additional significant changes to the platform this year.
