Many travelers to Singapore often opt for road trips to Malaysia due to the convenient transportation and the chance to check in at two famous Southeast Asian tourist spots.
Two Ways to Travel by Road from Singapore to Malaysia
Traveling from the island nation of Singapore to Malaysia by road is convenient and swift. The roads are well-maintained, buses are spacious and clean, and immigration procedures are swift. Additionally, along the road connecting these two countries lies the enticing Legoland amusement park in Johor Bahru, worth a visit.
Option 1: For those traveling directly from Singapore to Melaka or Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia

This is the most convenient and economical option as you can use the remaining balance on your Ez-link MRT card for transportation within Singapore. Please note:
– Take the MRT to Woodlands station, inquire about the bus stop for immigration procedures.
– Once the procedures are completed, take bus number 160 or 170 to Larkin Terminal, Johor Bahru.
– From there, purchase a bus ticket to Melaka (approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes) or proceed directly to Kuala Lumpur (around 3 hours and 40 minutes).
Option 2: A more intricate route, but you can include a visit to Legoland in Johor Bahru before heading to Melaka.
– Starting similarly to the above method, you'll need to reach Woodlands MRT station – the final stop for Malaysian immigration procedures, costing 3 SGD and taking about 1 hour on the road.
– Upon exiting Woodlands station, grab a bite to eat, then purchase some snacks to enjoy at Legoland. Complete Singapore exit immigration, enter Malaysia. Exit the checkpoint and catch a bus for about 10 minutes to Johor Bahru Sentral. Then, it takes around 20 minutes by Causeway Link bus from the city's intercity bus terminal to Legoland. The ticket price for this leg is 4.5 Ringgit (approximately 23,000 VND per one-way ticket).

Enjoying the games at Legoland is entirely up to you. With many children around, if you're traveling with kids, don't miss out on this place.
– Take a bus from Legoland to Larkin Terminal, Johor Bahru, which takes about 20 minutes.
– From Larkin terminal, purchase a ticket from Johor Bahru to Melaka, which takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. Upon arrival at Melaka Sentral bus terminal, take a taxi to your hotel. Alternatively, you can catch a direct bus to Kuala Lumpur.
