
The Chinese language employs pictographic characters and does not use a dedicated Latin alphabet. To type Chinese on your computer, you need to rely on the phonetic transcription system of this language. You can observe that the default language is English, abbreviated with the letters ENG in the bottom right corner of the screen.
To switch languages and type Chinese on Windows 10, click on the ENG letter icon.

Downloading a new language may take a little time; please wait for it to complete the download.

Once downloaded, the new language will be added to your computer. To complete the installation and set it as the default language, you need to restart your computer.

After installation, you can use the keyboard to type Chinese through pinyin phonetics.

Switch between installed languages effortlessly by clicking on the language abbreviation icon on the Taskbar in the bottom right corner of the screen.

When switching back to a different language, you can type in that language as you normally would.
