In a recent press release, Ubisoft 'subtly' confirms the next installment of Tom Clancy’s The Division. However, the gaming community's reaction seems rather lukewarm following the disappointment with the second installment.The Division 3 is announced without any flashy trailers. Instead, it's hidden within a press release about completely different information. Specifically, Ubisoft has officially appointed Julian Gerighty - the creative director of Star Wars Outlaws, an anticipated Star Wars game in 2024 - to oversee the production of Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Following recent announcements, it's been confirmed that Julian Gerighty will lead the development of The Division 3. This next chapter, developed by Massive Entertainment, is said to be in the team-building phase. This comes as no surprise as Massive Entertainment is currently tied up with other projects including Avatar: Fronties of Pandora and Star Wars Outlaws.The announcement of Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 is rather routine given the success of the series' first two installments, which collectively sold over 10 million copies. However, Ubisoft seems to have faced challenges with The Division Heartland. As of now, the game remains unreleased despite more than two and a half years passing since its initial announcement in 05/2021.
