Ultimate Detailed Travel Itinerary for Phu Quoc
WHEN TO VISIT PHU QUOC?
– The best time to visit Phu Quoc is from October to February of the following year. This is when Phu Quoc is at its most beautiful, with less rain and comfortable climate.
HOW TO GET TO PHU QUOC?
This time, I managed to grab a great deal on Vietnam Airlines tickets, just over 1.4 million VND for a round trip from Hanoi, and the flight times are perfect. (A tip when booking flights is to always try to choose a morning departure and an afternoon return flight to maximize your time for activities).

TRANSPORTATION IN PHU QUOC?
– Taxi: I opted for a taxi this time also because I coincidentally rode with a very friendly and helpful driver (Mr. Dương – 035 9928 126). You can contact him if you need transportation in Phu Quoc.
– Motorbike: This is the top choice if you are an adventurous traveler and have good health on your trip to Phu Quoc. Rental prices range from 120,000-150,000 VND per day, depending on the type of bike. You can easily book one at your hotel/homestay for convenient pickup and drop-off. The roads in Phu Quoc are relatively easy to navigate.
WHERE TO STAY IN PHU QUOC?
– There are plenty of accommodation options in Phu Quoc including hotels, resorts, and homestays. This time, I stayed at two places I liked: InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach (Truong Beach) and Sunset Beach Resort & Spa (Duong Dong Town).
WHERE TO EXPLORE IN PHU QUOC?
– Vinpearl Safari: The highlight of the Safari adventure is exploring the wild animal area. Get up close and personal with the natural habitats of various wild animals such as lions, tigers, hippos, and giraffes. Don't forget to experience feeding the elephants and giraffes. Safari also offers animal shows at 10am and 2pm. Remember to check the show schedule in advance to fully enjoy all activities. Entrance fee: 50k/person.

It's perfect for thrill-seekers, photo enthusiasts, and food lovers with its variety of dining options including KFC, Lotteria, and buffets at reasonable prices. Admission: 750k/person.
– Rach Vem Fishing Village – Mui Ham Rong: Rach Vem during the bioluminescent season from November to February. Rach Vem fishing village features numerous stilt houses and wooden bridges over the sea, offering a plethora of seafood stalls similar to those in Ham Ninh fishing village. Enjoy fresh and affordable seafood delicacies here.

– Phu Quoc Night Market (Duong Dong town center): This is the most bustling and vibrant spot in Phu Quoc at night. The night market offers a wide range of delicious street food: 30-flavor peanuts, grilled seafood starting from $20-25, coconut jelly, and sapodilla coconut ice cream. The market is open from 5pm to 11pm.

Besides geoduck, we also ordered sea snails (600k/kg), garlic-fried mantis shrimp (800k/kg), and grilled squid with chili salt (350k/kg).

– Hon Thom Cable Car: To reach Hon Thom, head to the An Thoi Station, where you can purchase cable car or boat/canoe tickets to Hon Thom. Once there, you can partake in activities such as beach bathing, kayaking, water motorcycling, coral reef diving (at Ky Lan Cape), or adrenaline-pumping rides at Sun World Hon Thom Water Park – known as Vietnam's largest entertainment water park. Ticket prices range from 600-800k per person (inclusive of admission and dining).
