Shortly after launching the Galaxy J7 Prime priced at 6 million dong, Samsung introduces the Galaxy J5 Prime at 5 million dong. This is seen as a slimmed-down version of its predecessor, the J7 Prime, in terms of both size and specifications, aiming to solidify its position at the top of the mid-range segment.

Shortly after releasing the Galaxy J7 Prime priced at 6 million dong, Samsung continues to unveil the Galaxy J5 Prime priced at 5 million dong. This is viewed as a trimmed-down version of its predecessor, the J7 Prime, in both size and specifications, aiming to strengthen its position at the top of the mid-range segment.
Unboxing the Galaxy J5 Prime comes with all necessary accessories including a charging adapter, Micro USB cable, instruction manual, and SIM ejector tool. It's a bit disappointing that J series devices aren't equipped with fast charging.

Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime
Aside from being smaller in size, the Galaxy J5 Prime inherits the entire design of its predecessor, the J7 Prime, with a full metal body, softly rounded back, and plastic top and bottom housing the signal antennas. The front features a curved 2.5D tempered glass, with the front home button integrating a one-touch fingerprint sensor. The positions of the physical buttons, speakers, SIM tray, and memory card slot are similar to the J7 Prime and offer excellent tactile feedback.

The level of craftsmanship of this Smartphone is quite impressive, with meticulous attention to detail in the assembly of various materials, resulting in virtually no gaps. The comfortable grip remains a highlight of the J-Prime series, and the J5 Prime excels further thanks to its compact size. One aspect of the J5 Prime's design that I'm not entirely satisfied with is the connection between the metal and plastic on the back not being as seamless as desired.

The Galaxy J5 Prime features significantly reduced specifications compared to its predecessor, the J7 Prime, with the device equipped with an Exynos 64-bit 7570 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD, 2,400mAh battery, and pre-installed Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with TouchWiz customization. I've tested the device's performance using various benchmarking software; you can find some results below.
