1. Essential Information about Taste the TV
Taste the TV, innovated by Professor Homei Miyashita at Meiji University (Japan), lets users touch the screen to smell food. In operation, Taste the TV sprays flavor capsules onto a plastic film placed on the screen. The ingredient box system crafts scents for users to taste. These film sheets are replaced after each use for hygiene purposes.

'The aim is to enable viewers to enjoy the flavors of dishes as if dining in various restaurants worldwide, whether they are at home or anywhere else,' stated Professor Homei Miyashita.
According to the professor, this TV will be a valuable aid for bakers and chefs. The ability to taste the aroma of food is highly useful in the process of honing skills and learning to cook online.

Homei Miyashita, along with 30 students, conducted research to create various flavors, aiming to provide users with more sensory experiences from Taste the TV. The goal is to help users experience multi-sensory perceptions.
Meiji University student Yuki Hou, aged 22, had a direct experience with this device. After instructing the machine that she wanted to taste the flavor of sweet chocolate, the flavor box sprayed the necessary samples onto a plastic sheet attached to the screen.
Professor Homei Miyashita mentioned that this TTV model was developed within a year. Estimated to be priced around $875 on the market, this TV will serve chefs, individuals in the food industry, or cooking and tasting TV shows.
