Despite having health insurance for almost a decade, many still aren't aware of this, and there's no one explaining it when you buy. If you see the line 'Time of continuous 05 years: from the date...' on your Health Insurance Card, its significance goes beyond marking your enrollment duration; it signifies your rights, potentially worth millions.

Normally, health insurance doesn't cover the full medical expenses, only a certain percentage. However, those who have purchased health insurance for a continuous 5 years and undergo treatment at the designated hospital with a total medical cost exceeding $7,260 this year will receive 100% coverage.
If your health insurance card does not have the line 'Continuous 05-year period: from the date....,' it will not be considered.
Conditions for enjoying this benefit include 2 main factors:
1. The card must have that line.
2. The total amount spent on outpatient medical examination at the designated hospital must exceed 6 months of the basic salary within the same year. Note that this expense is calculated within the same year. The basic salary has been adjusted since May 1, 2016, to $1,210 per month.
What if someone has purchased health insurance for 5 years and still doesn't have that line?
- Let's go to the social insurance agency where we submitted our application and receive the result there instead of going to the central social insurance office. Since there is a processing time for document assessment, the quickest will be within a day, and the slowest will be 10 days. Citizens will then receive the result.
- For those who have been enrolled in health insurance continuously for 5 years or more but do not have the certification line on the Health Insurance Card, request a replacement card to ensure your benefits are not overlooked. Hopefully, this information will be helpful to everyone.
