Uninstalling Applications via Windows Registry

Some software, when installed on a computer, may appear to install normally. However, when you attempt to uninstall them, you may find that they do not appear in the Add or Remove Programs feature on Windows. You can remove them without installing additional software by following the steps below.

Complexly designed programs are often challenging to uninstall at your discretion. If the installations of these applications do not appear in the Windows Add or Remove Programs feature, you might consider using uninstallation software such as CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller.

Nevertheless, you can perform this task directly within Windows without installing any additional software on your computer. Avoid situations where you want to uninstall those utilities but cannot by uninstalling the software by directly affecting the Windows Registry.

Step 3

: Expand the Uninstall branch and locate the settings of the program you wish to remove. The program's name will be displayed under the DisplayName entry in the right side of the screen.

Double-click on the UninstallString entry and copy the path from the Value Data: field.

Step 4: Open the Command Prompt window (follow the steps in the guide on how to start Command Prompt on Windows 7), Paste the path copied in step 3, and press Enter to initiate the uninstallation process.
