Not Every Gamer Dreams of Wealth from NFT Games
The explosion of NFT gaming in 2021 is seen by many as an inevitable outcome, satisfying the longstanding capital needs of gamers. That is, earning money, generating income from gaming without pursuing a professional esports career. Thanks to NFT games, the dream of earning money just by playing games all day, even having substantial income, seems closer to gamers than ever before. However, it seems not every player shares this sentiment. In fact, quite a few are extremely angry, as they - ordinary gamers - are unexpectedly being turned into investors due to the ambitions of publishers through NFT features.

Recently, Square Enix - the creator of many renowned titles including the iconic Final Fantasy, faced a strong wave of opposition, boycotts from the gaming community. Specifically, thousands of players of the game Kingdom Hearts - a title produced by Square Enix, have taken to forums, social media platforms like Twitter, Reddit, to oppose the company's attempt to integrate NFT projects into its game by attaching NFT codes to in-game items. According to the majority of gamers, this doesn't improve the game or enhance user experience, but serves only one purpose - to exploit gamers.

It's undeniable that over the past year, the NFT frenzy has infiltrated every aspect of life, but perhaps nowhere has it generated as much conflict, hostility as in the gaming industry. In reality, with pure NFT games like Axie Infinity, everything is straightforward. You like being an investor and a gamer, you go to Axie. However, it's precisely the 'excessive' success of this game that has led game publishers to consider integrating NFT features into traditional games, instead of creating a separate NFT project.

This is what creates conflicts. Remember, in traditional games, most gamers don't prioritize the Play to Earn factor, but simply want to experience, find entertainment, have fun with friends. And being involuntarily turned into investors definitely can't make them comfortable.
