Step 1: To split your screen on Google Chrome, start by downloading and installing the Split Tabs extension HERE.
Step 2: Once the installation of Split Tabs is complete, a toolbar icon will appear in the upper right corner of your browser, as shown below. Click on it to receive instructions on screen splitting shortcuts and then press Lets go!
Step 3: Next, you'll receive user prompts. Press I understand to proceed.
Step 4: When using for the first time, the Split Tabs extension will provide suggestions for screen layouts with preview images, such as 2x2, 2x1, 1x2, or 1x1.
We can rely on these preview styles to select the screen layout we want to split. For example, here I choose a 2x2 screen split, resulting in 4 browser windows as shown below.
Step 5: In addition to the available screen split suggestions, the Split Tabs utility also supports users in designing their own screen layout by clicking the + icon.
Step 6: A small dialog box appears where you can enter the number of rows in 'rows' and columns in 'columns' to split the screen. Press Save to preserve the screen layout.
After clicking Save, select the screen split layout you just created.
And we'll receive the result as shown below.
If you prefer not to use this screen split style on Chrome, simply hover over the chosen layout and click the X icon to delete it.
Step 7: Additionally, Split Tabs provides screen adjustment options. When you check the Empty tab option, empty tabs will automatically open to complete the selected screen layout, in case there aren't enough tabs in the layout.
On the other hand, when you check the Single tab option, tabs won't be split and will remain combined in a single window, allowing you to work seamlessly on your computer.
So, with the Split Tabs extension we introduce here, we hope you've found a tool for screen splitting on Google Chrome, assisting in handling tasks more quickly with individual tabs or multitasking. Depending on your usage needs and the device you own, you can make the most of this utility. Wishing you all an enjoyable experience.
