How to watch live streams faster than anyone else
As you may already know, when it comes to live video streams, adjusting the playback speed directly on the video isn't an option. That's why we'll take a different approach using a handy extension.
Step 1: For this tutorial, I've found an extension called Video Speed Controller that allows you to adjust the speed of live streams. To get started, simply click the link below and click on the Add to Chrome button to add it to your browser.
Step 2: After installing the extension, at the top left corner of the live video you're watching, you'll see a blurred number 1.00. When you hover over it, it will automatically expand to provide additional options for you. Press + to increase speed and - to decrease playback speed.
Step 3: To watch live video faster, ahead of others, adjust the video to a higher speed such as 2x or 3x until the video you're watching begins to buffer or pause to wait for the live signal, then adjust it back to 1x. You'll watch it earlier than others for a certain period of time.
Additionally, on the toolbar under the extension section, you can click on the icon of Video Speed Controller > select Settings to explore more about the extension's shortcuts for easier use.
