Transportation:
– By plane: I booked affordable round-trip tickets with Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways for only 1.2 million VND/person.
For a unique experience, consider the high-speed boat option, with tickets priced around 500-600k VND/person round trip. Departure points include Rach Gia or Ha Tien, with a travel time of approximately 1-2 hours.
Transportation:
– I opted for a private 7-seater car, costing around 900-1.2 million VND per day, depending on the distance. The driver was enthusiastic and friendly.
– For exploring the area, I rented a scooter at the hotel: 150k VND/day, 100k for 4 hours, and 50k for 2 hours.
Accommodation:
– On the first night, arriving around 8 p.m., I stayed at Anh Vu Hotel, priced at approximately 140k VND per person.
– For the remaining two nights, I chose Lahana Resort on Tran Hung Dao, averaging 1 million VND per room for 2 people per night. The rooms were reasonable, clean, comfortable, and the breakfast buffet offered a diverse selection. Its convenient location near the airport and city center made transportation hassle-free.
Itinerary:
Travel schedule for
– In the North of the island, you'll find Rach Vem and Vinpearl. To the South, there's An Thoi Station, Hon Thom, and Sao Beach. Heading West, explore the central areas of Duong Dong, Ong Lang, and Duong To. Towards the East lies the Phu Quoc National Park and Ham Ninh village...
Day 1: Rach Vem, Sunset Sanato
– Rach Vem, situated in the North, is a haven for starfish, approximately 20km from Duong Dong center. Personally, my favorite beach is Rach Vem, with its crystal-clear water, pristine shore, and an overall serene atmosphere. Along the beach, numerous establishments line up, and my pick is Ngan Sao, the last one on the beach. A meal for seven people cost us around 1.2 million VND.

– The beach is adorned with coconut trees, hammocks, and beautiful starfish, offering plenty of photo opportunities.

– Additionally, you can rent a canoe or take a boat to Mui Ham Rong for an even more stunning beach experience. Renting a private canoe costs around 1.2 million VND. After spending about 1.2 hours at Rach Vem, head back to the resort to check in. Once rested, head to Sunset Sanato for some captivating sunset shots.

Day 2: An Thoi Station, Hon Thom, Snail Shell Bar
– I took the cable car to Hon Thom, with a ticket price of 450k VND. The cable car operates from 8 am, with one trip every 30 minutes. Make sure to arrive early to capture the picturesque scenery at the station, featuring Roman amphitheater-style architecture and colorful European-style houses. I spent the entire day at Hon Thom and then returned to the city center for dining, followed by an evening visit to Snail Shell Bar for sunset views.

Day 3: Sao Beach + Vinpearl Safari
– Sao Beach is arguably the most beautiful beach in Phu Quoc, located in the southeast of the island, approximately 30-40 minutes from Duong Dong. The beach boasts legendary coconut palm swings (priced at 20k VND/person).

– After returning the scooter at the resort, I picked up Vinpearl's shuttle to Vinpearl Safari. Vinpearl's shuttle service is free and picks up from specific points, taking about 45-50 minutes to arrive. The entrance fee for Vinpearl Safari is 650k VND/person.
– Vinpearl Safari features a splendid collection of beautiful animals, especially flamingos, and a bird garden, all lavishly invested in. My favorite experience is the wild bus tour through the wilderness, showcasing captivating species like tigers, lions, and bears. There are two entertaining animal shows every day. The Vinpearl bus to Duong Dong runs every 2 hours, so it's advisable to check the schedule in advance and plan your time accordingly.

– Enjoying the sunset in Phu Quoc: A must-mention specialty when traveling to Phu Quoc is the romantic sunset. The golden hour usually begins around 6 pm, so the ideal time to arrive is at 5 pm, offering numerous stunning sunset viewpoints. Don't forget to check-in at these fantastic Instagrammable spots.
– Sunset Sanato: Entrance fee is 100k VND, excluding drinks, perfect for picturesque check-in photos.
– Snail Shell Bar: Stunning views, reminiscent of bars in Koh Rong or Bali, with an additional 50k VND charge per person during the sunset hours.
– Mango Bay at Ong Lang Beach
– Firefly Bistro
Dining:
– Phu Quoc Night Market offers numerous eateries; we tried Oc Noc in the old market, and it was quite satisfactory.
– Explore Ra Khoi, Huong Bien, Com Bac 123, Com Nieu Bac Bo,...
– Try the unique Bun Quay Kien Xay...
– Experience Bun Ken Ut Luom...
Total expenses for my 3D3N Phu Quoc trip with 7 people were around 5 million – 5.5 million VND per person for food and leisure. Phu Quoc is most beautiful from October to April, so plan your trip during this period and book affordable flights. Don't forget your face mask and health declaration. Looking forward to returning to Phu Quoc soon because I've fallen in love with this place.
