Since its launch, Windows 8 has introduced significant changes to design and interface. Unlike previous versions where My Computer icons were readily available upon booting up, Windows 8 features the StartScreen. To conveniently access Computer, consider placing its icon on the StartScreen.
Traditionally, users double-clicked the Computer icon on the desktop to access folders. However, with Windows 8's introduction of the StartScreen, Microsoft altered this method. Instead of using the Windows + E shortcut to open File Explorer, users can now bring the Computer icon to the StartScreen.

Step 3: After selecting Pin to Start, Computer tiles will appear on the right side of the StartScreen. To rearrange, hold and click the My Computer icon, then drag it across the StartScreen.
Now you've successfully placed the Computer icon on the StartScreen. Additionally, for those interested in changing tile backgrounds, the Obly Tile tool can be utilized. Best of luck! If using Win 10, you can also easily place My Computer on the Win 10 desktop for smoother access.
