Instagram stories have a short lifespan and aren't as readily shareable as posts on other social media platforms. To share someone's story on Instagram, you need to follow a few steps.

There are various ways to share someone else's Story on Instagram. Let's explore each method together!
1. Share Others' Stories on Your Own Story
Reposting someone else's story to your own requires a mandatory condition. The post must be tagged with your name.
So, if you notice friends have tagged your name in their stories, here's what you can do to share it to your own story.
Step 1: Open Instagram and tap on the paper airplane (message icon) at the top right corner.

Step 2: Open the tagged notifications you receive when someone tags you in their story.

Step 3: Choose Add to Your Post.

Step 4: Utilize the labeling and text tools at the top right corner to make your story more engaging. Then press Your Post to upload the story.

2. Sharing Stories with Others on Instagram
If you haven't been tagged in someone else's story, you can't post that directly to your own story. However, you can still share it privately with your friends through direct messages.
The only condition is that the person sharing the story must set their post privacy to “Public”.
Step 1: Tap to view the Story you want to share.

Step 2: Tap the “paper airplane” icon at the bottom right of the post.

Step 3: Select the individuals you want to share the story with >> Send privately.

That's all you need to do to share a story with your friends. Note that if the paper airplane icon is missing, it means the story creator has set their account to private.
3. Share Instagram Stories on Other Social Media
Another convenient feature of Instagram is the ability to share Story links on other social media platforms or send them anywhere.
Step 1: When viewing a Story, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Select Share to...

Step 3: Choose an app or person you want to share the story with. For instance, I'll choose Facebook.

Step 4: If sharing the story on another app, you'll also need to create a new post. Add an interesting description before posting!

Sharing someone else's story on Instagram requires specific conditions as mentioned by Mytour above. Hopefully, in the future, Instagram will expand this feature, allowing you to share stories with even more people.
