As per information provided by Zalo, this directory sending feature aims to help users:
- Firstly: Optimize time efficiently. Instead of zipping multiple files into one, now you can simply select the entire directory to send. This is particularly handy when you need to add, supplement, or remove files within the directory you want to send.
- Secondly: Sending directories on Zalo ensures that both the sender and receiver can be worry-free regarding any potential oversight or loss of data during the transmission.
2. How to Utilize the New Folder Sending Feature on Zalo
To experience this, you need to download or upgrade Zalo PC to the Zalo version available here
To send a folder on Zalo, you can choose either of the following methods:
- Method 1: Send the folder by clicking on the File icon in the chat window -> then select the folder to send.
- Method 2: Drag and drop the folder you want to send into the chat window area.
2.1. Sending Folders by Clicking on File in the Chat Interface
Step 1: Firstly, open and log in to Zalo to use the feature. If you're unsure about installing Zalo, refer to the guide by Mytour.
Step 2: Next, open a chat window with your friends -> click on the File icon above the chat box -> then click Choose Folder as described in the image below.
Step 3: Locate the folder you want to send on your computer -> then click Select Folder.
Immediately, your data folder will be automatically compressed and sent. A successful send will be displayed as shown in the image below:
2.2. Drag-and-Drop Method for Sending Entire Folders on Zalo
Step 1: Open a chat window with the person you want to send the data folder to.
Step 2: Select the folder you want to send -> then, click and drag the folder onto the chat window screen -> release the mouse to move the folder into the chat window.
Step 3: Immediately, the entire folder's data will be sent similarly to performing Select Folder in Method 1 above.
If you want to preview before sending -> perform a drag-and-drop to the chat input area -> you'll notice text displaying to help you understand the action you're taking.
With the two methods above, you can view detailed information about the files in the sent folder by clicking on the folder file -> the detailed interface of the files in the folder will appear on the right side of the chat window.
The data files within the above folder can be reopened (Preview) to review, verify if the sent data is correct, and notably, the data in this folder will be neatly organized, similar to viewing directly on your computer.
