Jingliu is a rare gem with revamped skills and a dazzling light hat in miHoYo's testing process. This is a commendable move, as the original version of the character was not weak but rather complex, requiring a high-level lineup. In this article, Mytour shares the perfected way to build Jingliu - at least until patch 1.4.

Unleashing Jingliu's Potential
Jingliu, the 5-star Cryo DPS character, marks the first limited character in Honkai: Star Rail. This character has garnered high anticipation from gamers due to impressive appearances in the storyline. She promises to be a top-tier meta DPS with substantial stats incorporated into her skill set by miHoYo.
Harnessing Jingliu's power is not overly complicated. Trigger her Spirit Shift by using the Charged Attack twice to accumulate 2 Cryo Virtue levels. In this state, Jingliu gains a 50% crit rate (at level 10) and inflicts significant damage by draining teammates' HP. Additionally, her ultimate contributes significantly to her damage output. Mytour suggests saving the ultimate for the Spirit Shift activation to maximize buff effects.
One standout feature of Jingliu is her ability to drain teammates' HP (not her own) to boost damage. In the official version, she only drains 4% HP per attack, a negligible figure easily compensated by any healing character. However, this necessitates having a healer in the lineup, as they can't be replaced by shield-generating characters.

Many gamers face the dilemma of choosing between the Light Headpiece or acquiring Soul 1 for their characters. While Soul 1 is useful, providing 24% crit damage and x2 damage against single targets, it depends heavily on the situation, according to the author.
On the other hand, the Light Headpiece is effective in all situations, especially with its useful ignore defense effect. It outshines other light headpieces in the game, so if possible, it's recommended to obtain a 5-star headpiece for Jingliu before focusing on the soul.

Once you've reached E0S1, you can choose to acquire Soul 1 or 2. Jingliu's Soul 2 is a reasonable stopping point as it buffs damage for the next combo after using the ultimate. There are no additional conditions to meet when obtaining this soul.
Build a Light Headpiece for Jingliu
The 5-star Light Headpiece, Thân Này Là Kiếm, truly surpasses all other options in the game when in the hands of Jingliu. Apart from providing crit damage and attack bonuses, its ability to ignore enemy defense is highly valuable.

If lacking stigmata, consider these options:
- Secret Oath: Provides a straightforward yet highly effective 20% damage boost for Jingliu (40% at stack 5). The damage increase when the character's HP is lower than the enemy's can be challenging to trigger as Jingliu drains the HP of other team members.
- Aeon's Collapse: Although inferior to Jingliu's stigmata, this option offers significant attack and damage, easily stacking to 5.
- Irreplaceable Artifact: Similar to the above, Clara's stigmata provides substantial attack and damage. However, it's in the standard banner and involves some luck.
- Miraculous Shoreline: If you have this but no Blade, feel free to use it for Jingliu. The 18% crit rate is always good, though the damage increase effect is challenging to trigger.
- Brighter Than the Sun: Still at 18% crit rate, but Jingliu rarely uses regular attacks, making the Roar of the Dragon effect challenging to activate.

Artifact Build for Jingliu
As Jingliu gains 50% crit rate through the Spirit Shift state, when building Jingliu, we can overlook this stat and focus on seeking crit damage. When selecting main stats, look for crit damage circlet, speed or attack boots, cryo damage goblet, and attack sands.
Interestingly, calculations show that Jingliu (and many other DPS) benefits greatly from equipping the Genius Artifacts set if stigmata is present. Without a weak point and no stigmata, Jingliu slightly falls short compared to using the 4-piece Blizzard Strayer set. However, if the enemy has a weak point, Jingliu can inflict much higher damage.
- Genius Artifacts: If equipped with the Light Headpiece stigmata, this is the top choice for Jingliu. Even though she doesn't deal Quantum damage, bypassing 10% - 20% defense is incredibly valuable. More powerful when teamed up with Silver Wolf or Pela.
- Blizzard Strayer: Buffs cryo damage and crit damage, but its crit rate stat somewhat diminishes as Jingliu receives a significant crit rate buff in the Spirit Shift effect.
- Combine 2 of the 3 sets: 2 Blizzard Strayer, 2 Genius, 2 Wanderer's Troupe: If you have artifacts with top-tier stats, mixing these sets can be beneficial.

Therefore, when faced with the
choice between Genius Artifacts and Blizzard Strayer, base your decision on whether you need the remaining artifact set (Defender's Will and Glacial Waltz).
For accessories, since most of Jingliu's damage comes from enhanced combos, Starlit Sanctuary is the optimal choice. Just add a 7% crit rate sub-stat on the artifact to trigger the 20% damage buff for her combos.
Conclusion
Above are all the essential insights for building Jingliu, the latest Cryo DPS in Honkai: Star Rail. She promises to be a valuable addition to your lineup, especially when other Cryo DPS like Yanqing and Herta have their limitations. Best of luck with your pulls, and see you in the next articles!
