When capturing photos with Live Photo on iPhone, the device also records sound to add vibrancy. However, you can turn off the sound of Live Photos using the instructions below.
1. How to Mute Live Photo Sound on iPhone
Step 1: Open the Live Photo in your iPhone's Photo Album.
Distinguishing Live Photos from Regular Ones: Look for the Live icon at the top-left corner of the screen.
- Live: Live Photo
- Live crossed out: Live Photo with Live feature turned off
- None: Regular photo
Step 2: After locating the Live Photo, select Edit (1) and choose Live (2) mode.
Step 3: To mute the sound of the Live Photo, simply tap on the Speaker icon at the top-left corner of the screen and press Done to finish editing.
After muting Live Photo sound, you can still view the image in dynamic mode, but the audio will be silent.
2. Muting Live Photo Sound by Disabling Live Mode
If you want to turn off the sound and switch back to a regular photo, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Live Photo in your iPhone's Photo Album and select Edit.
Step 2: Then, tap on the Live icon on the screen to disable the live photo feature and press Done to complete.
Step 3: Now, your images will revert to regular photos, and the Live icon will be crossed out. The sound of the Live Photo is also now muted.
3. How to Restore Sound to Live Photos on iPhone
If you want to undo the changes made to the Live Photo and restore its original state, simply follow the reverse steps outlined below:
Step 1: Open the Live Photo in your iPhone's Photo Album and select Edit.
Step 2: While in edit mode, choose the Restore option and select Restore to Original.
Now, the image will return to its initial state, and the sound of the Live Photo will be restored within the picture.
