Visit Ré Island to savor emperor crabs, catch jumping snails at Mái Nhà Island, or indulge in a fairy-like swim and coral reef diving.
Don't miss out on these 5 beautiful islands for your summer vacation
Chàm Island, Hội An
Just a 20-minute canoe ride from Cửa Đại port, Chàm Island is a small island with pristine beauty, attracting tourists with its sustainable tourism and simple life of fishermen. There are no hotels or resorts on Chàm Island, only homestay accommodations. Most locals on the island offer accommodations, meals, and boat rides for diving. The cost for a day on Chàm Island is around 500,000 VND per person. Please note that nylon bags are not used on the island to protect the environment.
It's recommended to take a morning boat around 7-8 am, visit the market, buy fresh seafood, and have it cooked at a homestay. In the afternoon, rent a bike to explore the island, visit some historical sites like Bãi Ông, Bãi Làng, and the Hai Tang Pagoda, then go diving to admire the coral reefs at Chồng Beach. Expect to spend around 500,000 VND for a day on Chàm Island. Remember not to use nylon bags to protect the environment.

Emerald Island, Binh Dinh
Emerald Island (also known as Vân Phi Island), located in Nhơn Châu commune, near Xuân Đài Bay, is approximately 24 km from Quy Nhơn. The island resembles a green gem amidst the sea, with beautiful scenery from the endless expanse of vegetation to the hues of the sky and sea.
The departure point to Emerald Island is Hàm Tử pier. You have 2 options: a high-speed boat priced at 200,000 VND per ticket, with a travel time of about 50 minutes; or a wooden boat taking over 2 hours priced at about 25,000 VND per ticket. The beaches on the island are still quite pristine, with clear water, gentle sandbanks, and natural rock formations in various shapes. Accommodation services on the island are underdeveloped, with only guesthouses available. You can inquire with locals about homestay services and arrange meals, immersing yourself in the lives of fishermen. Especially at around 3 am, islanders often use lamps on boats to catch jumping squid, an experience worth trying.

Câu Island, Binh Thuan
Câu Island or Hon Câu, located in Tuy Phong district, is about 10 km from the mainland and is one of the hottest destinations this summer due to calm seas and convenient island access in June. You can take a boat from Phước Thể fishing port, Liên Hương town, Cà Ná town, or Vĩnh Tân commune.
Câu Island is a small island that you can explore in a day, visiting attractions like the Love Cave, Sung Sướng crevice, Tiên Beach, Yến Cave, Ba Hòn Cave, coral reefs, Nam Hải shrine, and Cá Suốt Beach. Be sure to prepare food and bring plenty of drinks, as there is only one fresh water well on the island. Most of the fresh water is transported from the mainland. Since there are no residents, no electricity, and limited water supply, people usually only visit for the day. If you want to stay overnight on the island, you must obtain permission from the border guards.

Mai Nha Island, Phu Yen
Located over 4 km from O Loan lagoon, Mai Nha Island is likened to a Robinson island in An Hai commune, Tuy An district. The ideal time for visiting Mai Nha Island is from March to August every year, as the weather is calm and the sea is peaceful during this time.
You depart from the fishing pier in An Ninh Dong commune or Tien fishing port, taking a boat operated by local fishermen, each boat carrying a maximum of 50 passengers. The island is not highly developed for tourism, so you should bring a tent to camp on the beach and immerse yourself in the pristine nature. Jumping snails, moon snails, or sea urchins are seafood you can catch and grill yourself. With a tent, clean water brought along, you will only spend 300,000-400,000 VND for a day on the island, enjoying plenty of delicious seafood.

Re Island, Ly Son Island, Quang Ngai
Re Island is another name for Big Island in Ly Son district. Here you'll find the fine white sand of Tiên Beach, surrounded by majestic rocky cliffs. Swimming, snorkeling, or wandering around the island to take photos are experiences not to be missed.
You can fly to Da Nang, Chu Lai, or take a train or bus to Quang Ngai City, then head to Sa Ky port, where you can catch a high-speed boat to the island. There are many beautiful guesthouses and homestays on the island for you to choose from, ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 VND per night. It's recommended to rent a motorbike from the guesthouse to explore the island.
Suggested sightseeing route: memorial house (statue) – King's well – Hang Pagoda – large lighthouse – An Hai village temple – return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon: Thoi Loi reservoir (Thoi Loi mountain) – Cau Cave – An Vinh village temple, Am Linh Pagoda, Đuc Pagoda – Tò Vò gate (watching the sunset over the sea from Đuc Pagoda) – wind tomb area – return to the hotel for dinner or go to the night market to enjoy fresh seafood.
