South Korean electronics manufacturer LG Electronics Inc. announced plans to showcase 14 new OLED TV models at the Consumer Electronics Show, held over four days starting January 7th in Las Vegas, USA.
According to LG Electronics Inc., the upcoming OLED TV models will include new 48-inch versions.
The new TV models will receive upgrades featuring artificial intelligence (AI) technology and a fresh design.
OLED TVs utilize panels with organic light-emitting diodes, where each pixel self-illuminates independently without the need for a backlight when an electric current flows through.
LG stated that this collection of new TV models will feature a minimalist and ultra-thin design. The 65-inch TV version, for instance, is approximately 20 mm (0.79 inches) thin.
The company will also introduce a specially designed wall mount for the 55, 65, and 77-inch versions, allowing users to hang them flush against the wall.
Additionally, a new 48-inch version will be launched, providing consumers with more choices.
With LG's 2020 OLED TV series, gamers can enjoy high-quality visuals using the HGiG mode when playing HDR (High Dynamic Range) games.
LG Electronics currently leads the world in the OLED TV market, following the commercialization of this TV series for the first time in 2013.
As of 2019, 15 electronics companies have produced this TV series, including Sony and Philips.
